I'd get the Barron's book instead. With the Barron's book, last year my son used the HSPT practice test to familiarize himself with the kinds of questions that would be asked. Really every kid should be doing something like this before the test so that they will be able to complete the test in the appropriate time. My son's scores were so good he got a partial scholarship at the school he applied to.

I recommend this book very highly. My son used it to prepare for the High School Placement Test. It helped him to refresh his memory on some topics, he used the strategies to know how to approach the test, and the practice tests were really helpful. As a result, he scored higher on a couple of areas than he ever has on a standardized test! Well worth the money!
I've taught TACHS review class for over ten years. This is the only book I've used. The practice exams are better than those in any other TACHS review books.
