These are amazing! I purchased this brand and a very similar product - different brand, and Leafplates by far is the better product. These are adequate size for dinner plates and I will be using them for my wedding. One thing is that some of the packages were open, small holes in 3/10 packages I purchase, and I found when testing these plates if you leave them out open they actually get soft and are not as sturdy! So keep them sealed in a second bag when you purchase them till use.

I was very taken with the idea of disposable plates made from fallen palm leaves, but wasn't sure how well they would hold up under a meal of soft food. So, I ordered a package and tested a plate; I let it sit with food on it for about an hour, then rinsed it to see whether it would fall apart. Then I placed a little water in it and microwaved for about 30 seconds. Then I left the water sitting in it all night.

Result: No problems. It stood up perfectly fine, with not even any warping.

So, I ordered 140 of the 9.5-inch plates and 140 of the smaller ones for my granddaughter's wedding, which will be an outdoor affair held at a campground. (She is even more environmentally conscious than I am, so she was very happy about this.) We think her guests will be pleased, too. The plates are quite sturdy, attractive, and natural looking.

Perfect for what I was looking for. The sizes are good and they are pretty sturdy. They look cool, too. I don't have storage place for a bunch of dishes so when I found myself throwing a dinner party for almost 20 people I needed a solution that was reasonably priced and wouldn't create a storage problem for me. I don't like plastic utensils or plates because I care about the environment so when I found these I was over the moon. I would recommend buying them early in case they're not exactly what you want, the texture isn't smooth so I'm curious to see how it's going to work out with sauces and mashed potatoes. That's negligible for me, though, I like them.

Just wanted to let you know the plates worked wonderful at our wedding last weekend for our daughter. Everyone commented on them. We served tri tip, sausage, salmon, potatoe salad, bruschetta tomatoes and a watermelon/cumcumber salad all on the plates. I would defintely order them again and recommend them to others.
