Beware, the shams may be missing.

Living in the hot California Central Valley, we find we need a bed cover that’s a little lighter in summer. This seemed to fit the bill. When making my selection I checked to see if shams were included. The picture clearly shows two shams. The description mentions the stitching on both the quilt and shams. Finally when I checked further the description detail says that there are three items to ship. I feel pretty certain that a reasonable person would expect to receive a quilt and two matching shams. We really liked the quilt but unfortunately there were no shams included.

I contacted Amazon customer service and was initially told that shams were not included. After I read the description off the website to the customer service representative she put me on hold. When she returned she said there should have been pillow shams and if I’d send the quilt back she’d send me a replacement. While on hold I’d read many of the reviews and a lot of people had the same experience. After I pressed the rep a little more she said that she could send the replacement and we could wait until we verified that the replacement contained the pillow shams before sending the original quilt back. They also agreeded to pick up the returned quilt at the house. From the reviews it’s clear that this has been an issue for more than a year. I’m disappointed in the manufacturer who clearly has inconsistent packaging and in Amazon for not taking care of this issue for more than a year.

8/12/18 Update: The new quilt was delivered as promised and again there were no shams. Called customer service and spoke with a very nice representative. She offered to credit my account for the cost of the shams and I could order them for delivery. When I told her that I needed two king size shams she said that kings size was unavailable. I opted to return both quilts for credit. Returning the quilts couldn't have been easier. Eventually we ordered the Madison Park Ashbury Kings Size Quilt. We love the new quilt and it came with two king size pillow shams and two decrotive throw pillows. The whole experience was a little frustrating but the final representative we talked to went a long way toward making us feel better about Amazon and their service.

I spent months looking for a blanket that would be cool for the summer heat but still thick enough and with quality. I had a quilted comforter before that was way too hot. I looked at duvets, comforters, and didn’t like anything i saw. i saw this and after a few days decided to purchase.

The quilted quality is really nice and soft. I don’t know if i got the wrong size but it seems huge for my full size bed, which i am done with. It’s warm enough but also cool enough for the summer months. I really like it! the blue patterns look great and it doesn’t fall apart.

It’s not a very thick blanket - not right for you if you live in cold climate and want a big warm covering. I paid about $100 for it and I think it’s worth it. I was ok paying this for ONLY the blanket and not a set because I was too nervous about the fabric quality of other strange name brands out there. i also price checked with overstock and amazon was a bit cheaper.

These shams are exactly as presented but, oh, so much less. They arrived with a strong smell of dye, making it necessary to wash them at once. They shed big balls of lint that needed to be removed from the washing machine filter by the handful. Although my machine does a great job on cotton as a rule, these shams crumpled around the edges, making them appear even smaller and doughtier than they had originally. They are the absolute minimum of "standard" size, only take a skinny pillow, and barely overlap in the back where the pillow is inserted. Further, the fabric in back refuses to lay flat. With this presentation, they are inconsequential on the Cal. King bed. Colors: The "navy" color is really more like black, the remaining blues look more like grey and the broad area of grey is a steely flat grey. All-over the presentation is very somber indeed. I wish I hadn't bought them but they are mine now, along with the king size quilt that I purchased directly from Nautica. Don't be fooled. They will depress you, not neaten up your room.

We absolutely love this quilt. I'm usually too hot and my wife is usually too cold but we are both perfectly comfortable with this quilt. It's thin but dense. The pattern is exactly as pictured. We ordered the KING size and it did not come with shams.

Bad chemical smell in the quilt

Don't be fooled if you have a king bed - it barely fit on my bed. REAL problem that it came WITHOUT the shams. When you get back in Amazon and try to order the shams, they only have the standard, and you will need three (for king bed) at $40.00 each, so cost almost as much as the king quilt "set" which was only the quilt. Bad chemical smell in the quilt. Never had this issue before on Amazon products, so skip this product and choose something else!!
