My son has been in two major car accidents.. two different times within three months of one another..

Both times it was small car.. vs large vehicles..

He survived without a scratch or injury..

Rear ended in a Chevy Malibu by a Dodge ram 2500..

Rear ended in a Pontiac Vibe by a Dodge work van and then side impacted by an S10 headed the opposite direction..

I want to thank the Britax company for saving my son's life..

Properly installed and used correctly this car seat kept my 2 year old safe..

I give this the highest recommendation I could to any product..

Please not that after each accident we did replace the car seat with a new one..

Destroy car seats after an accident so they can never be reused..

I was a britax fan. But I am really frustrated with this carseat. It is comfortable and looks really safe. But after 9 months of using the belt inside the carseat is ripped. We didn't do anything unusual. I could not even imagine it can happen with the belt, it is supposed to be the best quality because it is about safety of children.

The other day I was in a wreck. Luckily my daughter wasn't with me, but I had to replace the car seat right away. We originally had the britax marathon and I loved it! Thought it was amazing. When I had to shop for a second one, I noticed that the adjustable head support on the marathon had no support. It was strictly just a flimsy pad. I never noticed or had to worry about it, seeing as it was always in a lower position with the frame. Now that my daughter will be 2 in a couple months, I'd like the replacement seat to have a sturdier adjustable head support to grow with her.

What I noticed was the Advocate is EXACTLY the same as the boulevard, just included the additional padding on the outer shell of the head. I figured, why not take the additional safety measures? We installed it and my daughter took to it right away. Really seems to like it. Also, installation was a breeze. Just pop open the seat, run a seatbelt through, pull it tight and close the seat. We still rear-face and it was no problem.

This thing is a tank. It almost seems too well-built for how heavy and bulky it is.. but is there really such a thing as "too well-built?" I'm keeping the receipt on hand in case something comes up that I absolutely hate about it, but I don't see that happening. Seems like the best option.

Also, from what I researched, Britax is one of the best brands for containing the lowest amount of flame retardant chemicals (a known carcinogen) that can be inhailed and also absorbed through skin. One of the main reasons I stuck with britax vs any other brand. Also, there was no chemical smell when I opened the brand new seat

I purchased mine from a local baby store, but I was on Amazon.com looking at all the reviews prior to purchase.

Worth the Investment for Babies who Don't like Infant Car Seats.........

My daughter is 7 months old and we recently went on a long road trip and I was debating buying her a convertible car seat since she is very tall for her age and seemed really uncomfortable in her Graco infant carrier car seat. Actually, she screams bloody murder when she gets strapped into the Graco and refuses to sleep unless she's completely wiped out and then she'll take a little 20 minute snooze after fussing for 30 minutes or more because she's tired but hates her car seat....I know they say a lot of babies love to sleep in their car seats but not my daughter! I can count on one hand the number of times she's fallen asleep in the car...since BIRTH....and one of the times she wasn't in her car seat, but rather we parked so I could hold her because she was so tired she was crying but wouldn't sleep!

After doing a TON of research I bought the Britax Advocate, telling myself it would be an investment because we should be able to use it until she's 4 or 5 and we take a lot of long road trips to visit family. I don't know if her other seat was too small for her or if this one with the memory foam is more comfortable, I don't know what the exact reason is but she actually seems to like going in her car seat now. The only time she sometimes cries is when I'm tightening her straps and I think that's just because she hates being restricted. But often I put her in her car seat and she seems happy to be sitting in it and nibbles on the buckle or shoulder pads and then sits quietly while I strap her in and we go on our way. She even fell asleep in it last weekend! Win!

Best car seat ever!

Fantastic car seat. My one year old and I were in a front impact 70 mph crash where we totalled my Tahoe...both of us walked away, thankfully! The firemen and paramedics couldn't believe how well the seat was installed, it didn't move at all during the accident. This car seat had literally been in the car for twenty minutes before the accident, it had just been delivered. Thank you Britax! The company gave us a free replacement ( we bought at Buy buy baby, at the time wasn't offered on Amazon)
