I think the design and aesthetics are great, but this same issue was reported 5 years ago on another sabrent hub and still hasn't been resolved.

When the hub is plugged into a PC and the adapter also plugged in, it causes odd behaviors. On my XPS laptop this means random other devices plugged into my USB dongle don't work at boot. Sometimes HDMI, sometimes my keyboard, etc. The behavior is consistent (in a random sort of way). On my desktop the effect is it won't boot 90% of the time. Push the power button and... nothing. Unplug the hub, boot the PC, plug the hub back in. Inconvenient.
One could argue it could be a BIOS setting (though I couldn't find a setting on either of my devices that helped). I suspect power bleeds back to the port, causing confusion. But that's just conjecture.
It's a good hub, and for what I paid I'll probably keep it. But I'm disappointed that Sabrent didn't catch this in testing. Because I'm greedy for higher transfer speeds for copying virtual machines.

The ad's usually don't bother to inform buyers of this.
This device does not ship with the external power adapter.
So, if you want this gadget to work at all, you'll need to purchase the Sabrent 5V 4A 100V-240V to DC Power Adapter for an additional $12.99.
But, WARNING! there's a *known* issue (see other reviews) where power bleeds back into the USB port. This happened on my Dell PC and it fried both USB 3.0 ports.

The cord that connects it to the computer is so thick and non-pliable that the port is not able to sit flat under my screen. I'm sure that over time, it will adjust but still pretty annoying. Something that wasn't advertised at all in the product description is that it features a small light. An downward facing, bright light that remains on as long as the computer is powered on. I tried covering it up with a small piece of cardboard as it reflected off the base of my computer, but light still leaks out.
It is definitely worth mentioning that this Port caused some issues with my Wi-Fi. As all the other devices connected fine, I alternatively contacted Xfinity and Apple to try to repair my iMac connection issues. No one could figure out the problem for about a week. My home Wi-Fi would show a strong connection but would act as though there was no internet connection.
Then I received an email (on my handy, dandy Wi-Fi connected phone) from Amazon urging me to review my recent purchases. When I saw this item again, I started to wonder if it could possibly be the reason. I opened my browser and tried to check my email. Nothing. As soon as I unplugged this little guy, BOOM, Internet connection restored.
So thank you, Sabrent for a week's worth of confusion. I will be returning this product.
