Made in the USA and FSC Certified
Victor metal pedal rat traps are proudly constructed in the USA by Victor, a century-old brand and trusted industry leader. Even more, each trap features a platform made from environmentally responsible wood that’s been certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC is an organization that helps ensure forests worldwide are responsibly managed).
Location, Location, Location
Set the baited trap in areas where activity has been noticed or on the floor with the bait end flush against the wall. Rodents tend to travel along the wall, so placement in this location often works best. For maximum effectiveness use multiple traps to increase results. After a successful kill, simply lift the metal kill bar, dispose of the body, and reset. The reusable (or disposable) trap can be utilized anywhere in or around the home, and it doesn't require any chemicals or poisons, so it’s safe around children and pets (use with caution).

Simple Set Up
Bait the trap by placing peanut butter or something similar on the metal bait pedal (use a Q-tip or toothpick to avoid leaving your scent). Then pull the kill bar back, and swing the arm bar over the kill bar. After latching the bent end of the arm bar into the notch on the metal pedal, slowly release pressure until the arm bar holds the kill bar securely in place. At the slightest little nibble, the metal bait pedal releases the kill bar, snapping the trap closed for an instant kill.

Stunned, she FaceTimed me and live streamed her terrifying attempts at freeing this cute, innocent rat-with-a-fluffy-tail. Armed with gardening glove and long, rusty screwdriver (plus valid tetanus shot, but absent rabies shot), she eventually pried the tiny beast free.
It flopped and wrenched a bit, wheezing what appeared to be its final breaths. After saying her goodbyes to our young sons as she prepared to turn herself in to the authorities for animal cruelty and surely face a stiff sentence for her thoughtless actions, she returned to the scene to find... no squirrel.
We like to believe that the squirrel had the kind of energy burst that only a rodent who has looked death in the eye and said, “not today, I have many more nuts to gather”, might muster. He was more likely the victim of an opportunistic hawk, but the world, and the authorities, will never know.
I guess what I’m trying to say is these traps are also pretty good at catching squirrels, if you’re a monster of a human being.
I baited a few of them with peanut butter around 7pm and heard a very satisfying *SNAP!* at around 1am. Checked the traps and I had my first clean kill. The rodent was about 5" in length and fairly large. Technically you can reuse these traps but for the price I was happy to just throw the entire unit away and set down another one.
For the cost and effectiveness, I'm very pleased with this purchase.
Some things that worked for me:
- Put a few down in a row in strategic locations, like where the rats droppings lay.
- A little bit of bait goes a long way. Make sure to secure the bait using the hook or try and put the peanut butter, jerky, cheese, twine, cotton balls etc. In a place where the rats can't just lick them or take them off and walk away. You want them to be have to rug at that part of the trap in order to activate it.
As for bait, I have so far used ham and bread with peanut butter; they both work.
