I purchased the green model. If you are looking for a glitter nightlight that will give off the same effect as a real standard size lamp, this won't do it. It lights up the room nicely but you'll only see the glitter effects on the wall directly in back of the outlet. While it looks nice, you need to take a few safety precautions. 1. It gets very hot. Do not plug it in where kids can reach it. I never leave it on for more than a couple of hours. 2. Since the globe is made of glass, it is top heavy. It plugs in vertically and leans forward. While the prongs weren't exposed I didn't feel comfortable leaving it on like that. I don't know if it could create sparks or anything. All of the outlets in my home are horizontal so I had to buy a outlet converter. Again with the way it sometimes leans forward I wouldn't plug it in to any outlet that isn't grounded. 3. I would not recommend giving this to any child under the age of 10, due to how hot it gets and because it is not a toy.

I'm giving this two stars because it looks to be sturdily made, the glitter actually floats around in the liquid, and it came in many colors Other than that, the prongs were bent too close together to plug into a regular outlet, so I used a pair of pliers to gently widen one of them. Plugged it in, turned it on and it doesn't work. Tried it in several different outlets, nothing. Too much trouble to send it back. I'll try one more thing and replace the bulb I found by separating the base from the body, and hope for the best, but it shouldn't have been sent out this way.

I got this as a wrap party gift and it was a hit with everyone. I even ordered an extra for me and I use it in my kitchen. It was the best quality, cutest, and most affordable lava lamp night I could find!

Well, it's cute and it works just like a Lava Lamp. It's glittery and starts blue when cool, but becomes red moving goop when hot. For the price, it's fun, even for adults; that's me.
