Thanks to this gift, my daughter now wants to make soap and sell it on weekends. So I was torn between "CURSE YOU, SPA SOAPS!" and "WAY TO GO!" In the end, the product exceeded my expectations and inspired my kid, so it gets a high rating. But, you guys, I don't want to be doing this every weekend! We created a soap monster/enthusiast thanks to this kit. So yay?

We have purchased several of these kits, and we keep reusing the molds. Really fun activity and requires an adult to help. Mom cut the soap bars with a knife before melting pieces in individual coffee cups in the microwave (handles are essential since the soap gets very hot). Kids then quickly added vanilla or lavender or honey plus food coloring to the melted soap before pouring into the molds. You have to act quickly to make sure the soap doesn't harden before pouring. Rather than stirring, we swirled the scents and food coloring into the melted soap before pouring. We then froze the soap in the molds by placing in the freezer to make them easy to remove later. We packed the results in disposable plastic containers for the kids to take home as favors from the party. It was a lot of fun and took up about an hour of the party time.

Wow, this is an amazing kit! I bought this for my 13 year old daughter! She has autism so it’s hard to find things that she wants to be creative with. One thing she loves is bubble baths and any girly bath stuff so I bought this on Prime Day. It exceeded my expectations! And the BEST NEWS is my sweet girl is SO excited about making these soaps! The instruction book is so concise that I think I’ll even be able to master it! She’s already given me a list of friends and family she wants to make soap for! And she asked if we could go to the store so she could get her own soap ingredients! Stem products are AMAZING! And y’all! I am thrilled my girl is excited about this!

How fun! Lots of soap making this weekend I foresee!

Fun but cheap

Agree with others: this kit is fun but cheap. Molds in particular are flimsy plastic with too shallow indents. Material made it very difficult to remove the soaps. After some effort we removed them but parts of soap were damaged and mold shape deformed from all the bending and warping. We tried a competitor's soap kit and it included pretty scents and rubber molds. This was WAY better for about same price.

I bought this kit hoping to reuse by purchasing more blocks of glycerin but nothing in the package is reusable. One time only use seems wasteful. Overall, not pleased with it.

The decorative boxes were a nice addition so I give an extra star for that.

I don't write reviews often, but I was compelled to write about this kit. We read the booklet beforehand and followed the steps. That part went well enough, although I found the soap would cool and coagulate faster than I expected. Not much time for add-ins. The soap molds were teeny. When it was time to remove the soap, they were cemented in the molds. I resorted to cutting the molds but that didn't work. Eventually they came out. A few were ruined in the process of extraction, and the molds are now useless. We had fun doing it. Enough to consider buying better molds (silicone).

Pros: Inexpensive, and the booklet was educational and fun to read.
Cons: Teeny molds, was hard to extract, and ended up destroying them while removing the soaps.
