A LOVING FATHER
A typical morning in the Atlanta suburbs: Businessman Rusty Sneiderman drops his beloved son off at the Dunwoody Prep nursery. In the parking lot, a minivan pulls up next to his car. The driver pulls out a gun-and shoots Rusty four times in the chest.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book! I live in the metro Atlanta area and can recall when this terrible incident took place. I, along with other residents in the Atlanta area became captivated by this story. From the beginning, something just wasn't right. Of course violence can happen anywhere but in the parking lot of an esteemed day care center, hardly! As more and more details began to emerge, suspicions were directed towards the wife. I mean, really, what are the oldest motivators for bringing harm to someone; greed comes to my mind. I don't want to give the book away but I gained so much more insight from reading the book than from snippets of the trials. Excellent book and would highly recommend!!!

Initially I had trouble getting in to this book for reasons that I cannot explain. When I DID, I was not sorry. After having seen a lot of coverage of this case on TV, both news and crime TV, I felt that there was little to be learned, I guess. I was wrong. I found the book to be well written, easy to keep track of the characters involved, timelines made sense, and I did learn new things! A sad story ending the life a man who seemed to be totally oblivious to the fact his wife was having some kind of affair with another man, leaving many victims in it's wake. Highly recommend.

I think it was a bit repetitive and despite pleading insanity you could see that the murder was well and truly planned by the two of them. I found it a bit boring at times.

Started out as a pretty predictable true crime...the wife hired a hit man to kill her husband for $2M in life insurance. Wrong! Actually pretty hard to fathom the actual crime - her boss, a 40-something well-educated good citizen, decided to gun down her husband out of unrequited passion for the wife. Or not unrequited? We'll never know.
That's one problem with this story; since Andrea won't talk we'll never know what really happened. She's thoroughly unlikeable, and you don't get to know Rusty well enough to feel bad about his death. Was Hemy really insane? Again we'll never know. Too much courtroom drama and not enough back story.
This was a good read but certainly not one of the best true crime books.

Was a quick and good read. I was a little familiar with the story, but hadn't paid enough attention to the trial on a daily basis when it was happening. This book filled in a lot, and was informative. Still have some questions after reading it, but that's no fault of the author - it's more a case of if to believe the wife or not. Her manipulation might not prove guilt but it also doesn't prove innocence.
