This works fantastic on my thinner/lighter gauge or soft metals- much better than my metal saw does. However, the biggest issue with metal shears is that you can only cut so far into the metal before you have to start bending it just to reach. So these are great if you are, for example, cutting rough shapes (such as metal stamping blanks) but it is a struggle if you need to do something like cut a straight strip off a larger piece of metal.
A feature I like is the handle, the grip coating is solid and does not make your hand ache the way other models do. It also has an easy swing catch on the bottom to keep the shears closed. They are very easy to sharpen as well.
However, they are not intended to replace a jeweler's saw so for the purpose that they are intended to serve, they get five stars from me. Tim Holtz/Vintaj products almost always impress me, it is a brand that truly lives up to the hype.
