I don’t remember how this was packaged, but I believe there was a seal on this item, that I had to remove. As you can see in my photos, there are all sorts of black debris in the gel. Either this was repackaged, or there are a lot of contaminants in the assembly line. This is merely a visual thing.
This gel functions as it’s supposed to do. I don’t use it on instruments. I use it as a cheaper way to clean turntable needles. I have the expensive Onzow Zerodust, which works great. But I have multiple turntable stations, and don’t want to keep moving the Zerodust around. I think this Moongel is softer than the Zerodust. If it wasn’t for the contamination, I’d rate this five stars. But I have no way of knowing what the history or manufacturing of this gel is.
