In short, coming from a "budget-audiophile", these are absolutely great earbuds for the dollar. They are worth every penny, and more.
Everything from the sound stage, to the construction, and even the packaging, screams quality and the product backs it up to boot.
Seriously, give them a shot, you shouldn't be disappointed. And if you are, hey, return them, it is Amazon after all.
I now own 5 pairs of these (4 technically). One pair for at home, one pair at work, one pair in the motorcycle backpack, and one brand new pair that't honestly just sitting on my desk because I wanted a different color, and felt that they were absolutely worth the value to buy again PURELY for aesthetics. The 5th pair (this particular color), I gave to my girlfriend (no real appreciation for audio quality) and even she will admit that she doesn't know how she was listening from "cheap" earbuds for so long, and is even considering buying herself another pair to keep at the office as well.
Seriously. Give them a shot, you won't be disappointed.
With the Bagis, I could just poke them in my ears and go. And if they weren't sounding loud enough, or bass-y enough, usually jamming them in just a bit harder would fix them. The Kransens don't work like this. They want to live just inside your ear canal with not too tight a seal. Push them in too hard and the sound is muffled or even cut off altogether. This means I'm constantly pulling the things out of my ears so I can place them back in more gently than before. And their lack of tolerance for a good seal means I can hear noises seeping in from the real world over my music. Aggravating.
This is not a comment on the sound quality. I find the sound from either the Bagis or the Kransens (insofar as I am able to comfortably hear it) to be fantastic, but keep in mind I am an Audio Fan, not an Audiophile.
Urbanears have incorporated a new and very stout 90 degree bend into the connector prong on the Kransens. This is a huge improvement, which will hopefully migrate over to their other models. The microphone control, as on all Urbanears, is perfectly functional but chunky, and always catches on the collar / chest area of my shirts... oh, but now I'm being a picker of nits, so I'll end.
Love Urbanears. And the Kransens are fine, but I think I'll go back to the Bagis for my next ones.
