Specially designed to protect your mouthpiece, the Reserve mouthpiece patches (or “cushions”) are ideal for clarinetists and saxophonists of all ages and abilities. Our unique material adheres securely to the mouthpiece, yet enables easy removal or transferal when needed; it will not leave residue. Ideal for educational purposes, the Reserve mouthpiece patch prevents the teeth from sliding on the mouthpiece. As a saxophonist, the pack of five is a little unnecessary, but I used all of them and they haven’t fallen off once. I would say though you have to dry/clean the sides after playing. Very good product, very sticky, and very soft. 10/10 recommend.

I really like how thick this one is for the mouthpiece's protection. My teeth tend to wear a small dent in the plastic, so this keeps the mouthpiece from that happening, making it easier to sell the piece in the future if I no longer want it...

The only thing I noted about it is that the light cushion darkens the tone slightly. When there is no pad between your teeth and the hard plastic mouthpiece, the tone is brighter and slightly louder (!). The pad will slightly darken the tone.

But these are indispensable when trying out new mouthpieces so that you are not faulted for teeth scratch marks on a mouthpiece you're trying out (and don't know if you're sending it back or keeping it yet..).

I always have extras in my drawer in case I need to try out a new piece, borrow one from a friend, or over time I wear the current one on the mouthpiece out.

Got this for my son who plays in High School band with an Alto sax. His comments are basically "5 stars, Love this, so much more comfortable than the ones I had, and would recommend it to my friends and teacher".

So there you go. If an HS kid is excited about these pads would recommend to his teacher, they have to be good right?
