This is a must have resource!

Also, the directions are not always complete. For example, on page 311, the author tells how to flip text from one side of a path to the other. Nowhere does he remind the "student" that the text needs to be selected in order to accomplish this task.
This book appears to be a hastily prepared version based on earlier editions. As the comments reported, the sample photos are labeled for pages in an earlier edition. Given the amount of information in the various sections, I would like to have had more practice photos. After going though a little over half the text, I have yet to find a symbol for web content. The associated web page given in the introduction takes the user to Elements 10 info. Apparently, there weren't enough changes in the edition to warrant a real update on the webpage, but if one is spending good money for a new edition, the information in it should be complete and accurate --including the websites!
I puchased this book after seeing some of the author's videos in various places offering tutorials on Elements 11, but for those who like to work along with the book, the text is disappointing. One would have to be pretty familiar with Elements in order to complete some of the tutorials.
If you're not already familiar with Elements, you may be better off with the Missing Manual or the Classroom in a Book.

Andrews, begins by going back to basics and seeing how factors like resolution and numbers of colors affect the quality of image capture. Next, the author looks at the various tools, functions and interface components that make up Photoshop Elements. Then, the author shows you how the smart digital photographer will reap the rewards of time spent working with their image collection in Organizer, and how they will be able to find the images they need faster and easier than ever before. He continues by discussing how with Organizer (now available for Mac users as well), Mac users will have access to all of the great features in the Instant Fix pane. Next, the author covers those projects that are listed in the Create pane. Then, he explores the Share menu, which contains a series of photo projects that can be used to showcase and distribute your images. The author continues by showing you how to switch to the Raw file format; and, how shooting can provide you with the highest detail photos ever. Next, he explores the good place to start, when wanting to move from the simple single button, to making a change approach of the Organizer's Fix pane, to the fuller enhancement environment of the Guided Editing workspace. The author continues by looking into the second level of editing, which sits in the middle ground between total user control and total program control over the editing results. Next, he takes you step-by-step through basic picture adjustments and enhancements; as well as, showing you how to use these techniques. The author then looks a little closer at the tools and features inside the Elements' workspace. He continues by looking at the mechanics of creating and using selections. Next, the author introduces the concepts behind using Layers in Elements and demonstrates the fundamental techniques that you will use on a daily basis to enhance your photos. The author then looks at some of the ways that Elements users can add type to their compositions and then checks out the many ways that you can style the text. He continues by looking at how to use Elements' painting and drawing tools to create something entirely new. Then, the author covers the basics of filtering, provides examples and details of different filtering effects. Next, he looks at the following Photomerge utility features: Photomerge Group Shot, Photomerge Faces, Photomerge Scene Cleaner, Photomerge Panorania, Photomerge Exposure and the Photomerge Style Match. The author continues by concentrating on the various steps involved in creating, styling, editing and printing Photo Books, Collages, Calendars and Cards. Finally, he looks at the way that you can get great prints using Elements.
This most excellent book uses a very simple and easy-to-understand style to illustrate the basic functionalities and then moves onto the more advanced techniques. More importantly, as you go through this great book, you will develop an ease with Adobe Photoshop Elements 11!
