Very smooth, nice tips, and the paracord threads on easily and firmly. I'm not use to using it yet(cut my cord too short), so I've had to add some length of hollowed out cord. Cut a piece or use scraps and pull the inner strands out. Use a fid to open up the sleeve, and melt the ends a put the fid in again to keep the opening wide. Then melt and form a point on your working cord that's too short. Insert it into the hollowed cord, and melt a bit and squeeze it in, rotate, melt, squeeze, repeat. Once you work it through your project, give a good yank and it comes apart if you didn't melt it on too much, otherwise just cut it.
