My Nexus 7 (2013) is my first and favorite tablet. I loved carrying around without a case because it just feels premium. However, after dropping it for the first time, I got paranoid and started looking for a case. I wanted a slim case that would provide some protection for my tablet. As it turns out, this case is one of the best available.
The design of the case is a fun design composed of many icons found in stock Android. Seeing that this tablet is one of the few that runs stock Android, the theme is very consistent and matches the tablet. The buttons, camera, and speaker are all cutout accurately and everything is done professionally. The case itself is a perfect balance of thin, but not too thin. The plastic also is raised slightly over the screen to protect from flat surface impacts. This being a tablet though, the screen will crack if it hits a pointed object or any surface that makes direct impact to the middle of the screen. Other than that, the case should work for most people.
This being a second Cruzerlite case that I’ve purchased, the quality is good. I’ve only dropped it once, but the tablet and the case came out unharmed. The plastic is still solid and has not lost any of its stiffness. One thing that I will say is that the case has slightly less grip than the soft touch plastic found on the actual Nexus 7. That being said, it is just nitpicking since this case does everything I ask of it and it doesn’t become slippery.
This case is probably one of the best that is out there for the Nexus 7. This case is perfect for people who want to protect their tablet and keep its slim form, but not to the extreme of getting an Otterbox. Sure, it won’t provide the same level of protection as an Otterbox, but it will get the job done as long as its not placed in extreme conditions. For urban commute, it is enough. Competition? The Fosmon DURA-FROST series offers similar layout and quality of the Cruzerlite, but with a more plain design. But if you’re the opposite of plain, this is perfect for you.
There was no stand included. There is no front flap to get in the way. The Nokia DT-900 wireless Qi charger plate works through the cover.
Hook three corners and push (don't pull) the fourth corner on from the back.
The amusing icons on the back of this case are cute, but the selling point is really the fit (which is perfect) and the material. I highly recommend it for those who want to protect their devices over the long haul.
>Hard enough that it stiffly surrounds the device, but soft enough that it would cushion it in the case of a fall.
>comfortable soft touch plastic
>Preserves Thin, sleekness of the nexus
>Holes are perfectly cut out. No ragged edges, nothing covered up, speakers are not muted.
>Slightly raised above the level of the screen, so if screen falls flat on its face, it is fine
>Protects the whole nexus (not open on the top or bottom, corners are covered, well padded
>Fits snug over the whole nexus and hugs very close, so no bad looking gaps between screen and case
>separate holes for volume rocker and power button (more of a personal preference)
>Has so many pros that review took forever to write
