Essentially a pin-hole lens. Some of the pictures I've taken with this lens are surprisingly OK. To come out sharp, the subject has to be between 2-4 ft of the lens and be in the center of the frame. Works fine on a single large flower, say, where the blurring around the edges won't hurt and might actually enhance the picture. Best with plenty of light. Anything farther than a few feet away won't be sharp at all but could work for lomo photography. More for fun than for quality images.

Not high tech. Good focus from about 10 inches to 6 feet. Beyond that it blurs out.
It is a slow lens. Shooting in low light - unless you have a mini-tripod - is a no-no.
Haven’t ever tried it with flash - I need to.....
Play with it - with the built-in filters of any Q camera.
Almost Holga-like images.

Only Pentax Q and MFT Olympus have these wacky lenses.

I love the images this lens produces. It's the closest thing you can get to a Holga lens on the Pentax Q... except an actual Holga lens. And I actually think this does a better job creating fun images than a Holga grafted onto the Q. It's soft in all the right ways, but still has a sharper focus zone. Images look good. And it's dirt cheap. It's a fun toy to play with.

I know that I am not the only person in love with my pentax Q, but the more I play with it and all the different lenses that are available and adaptable, the more that love expands. This lens is just what I was looking for and more. It is simple, easy and fun all around. The blurred edge adds a slippery, dreamy feel to it. I truly recomend it.

This is a really fun lens, and the price is right. It stays on my camera as the default lens - it protects the sensor, keeps the camera package slim, and is great for the kind of goofy snapshots I like to take.
