I liked the pen until after light use I noticed a small peice of the bottom plastic housing broke off. No idea how this happened. Then another small peice broke off and the housing no longer stays on the pen. It has made it u comfortable to use. I wouldn't buy this pen again.

Cross customer service said I could send it in for repair under warranty but there is a $10 processing fee and I have to pay shipping. So after that investment and my time to do so, I might as well just order a second one since I paid about $19 for the first. No thanks.

I love this pen ...

Now, I’m a professional writer — and have been for my entire 36-year professional career. And that included 22 years as a newspaper reporter. I say that because I take LOTS of notes — and I do it “old school,” jotting them down by hand.

The upshot: I’ve become quite the “pen nut,” taking lots of them for test drives. Pens I don’t like, I discard pretty quickly. The ones that I dig, however, I keep around.

This Cross pen ... it’s one I’m keeping around. It’s nice to hold. And it writes so doggone SMOOTH. It makes writing a joy — despite my truly horrid penmanship.

In fact, I liked this pen so much that I immediately bought one as a gift for a colleague who has been very kind to me.

The bottom line: Cross really did this right; it’s comfortable to hold, has an innovative proxy for a “cap” and writes great.

Very solid capless gel ink pen. Cross put out a innovative way to expose the writing portion of the pen instead of using the twist method or push down method. I like the slightly oversize body of the pen for easier grip and I like the weight of the pen that exposes something that symbolizes a little more quality. Overall the writing of the pen is very good, however, with all gel types of inks be careful of smearing. Although the ink dries very quickly I've had an occasional instance where the ink smears as my hand passes through the writing. Also, if you're expecting the pen to fit into a wallet be cautious as the oversized body does interfere a bit with some of the wallet designs.
