Now, I've had this product for a couple of years now so it's time to give a review. I don't like giving reviews on stuff until I've gotten a lot of use out of the product...minimum a couple of years. Now I've use this product everyday and from day 1 there's been a problem. Of course you plug in your 3.5mm headphones and you plug the other side to your home stereo and you can walk around a little. Anyway with mine, the right side cuts in and out, but if I don't move the cord it's fine, but if I move it just a little I know the right side is going to cut out, so I have to move around the cord until the right side comes back on.

I am a Hosa cable fan, however, their quality can be hit and miss. Both Hosa and Amazon stand behind the products sold, so you can purchase without fear, unless you need the cable right away for a time sensitive project.

Out of 10 of these cables (purchased from Amazon and other sources) I have had 2 cables with a broken side (meaning only the left stereo channel worked) and 1 cable that was completely faulty. In all cases, I was able to quickly get a replacement.

Of the ones that were good, they have held up very well, been abused, rolled up, unrolled, and even stepped on. They hold up well under rough use.

Quality has gone downhill

We used to use these Hosa headphone extensions all the time. After a few years it was time to buy some more. Bought a batch of them for our stage and after just a few uses our musicians were complaining about their ears cutting in and out. Sure enough we wiggled the end of these brand new cables after just a few used and they would cut in and out constantly. Quality has gone downhill for sure over the past few years. Look into a new brand!

Bought 5, one stopped working

I bought 5 of these to use at church for our Aviom units as able extensions from the headphone jack on the Aviom to the in-ear monitors we use. After just a few days of use, one of the cables stopped working. Now it has to be twisted and contorted in just the right way and in just the right spot for it to work - not reliable enough for actual use. The cable was not abused or handled poorly, it just stopped working. Very disappointing. Hoping that this won't happen to the others.
It might be a better investment to buy a spool of cable wire and the jacks/connection points you need and solder them on yourself (if you have the time and skillset).

What does "sheerness" have to do with an audio extension cord? Sheesh! While these, they're ok. The 1/8" jack is fragile and the internal tip connection loosens too quickly. The second one I bought was DOA and returned. I eventually cut open the jack, adjusted the tip contact, resoldered the connections and resealed it with a silicon sealant. More work than it was worth, butt if you have the skills, it can be repaired. Otherwise, spend more for a better cord set
