Nice basic compact case with room for modest dedicated graphics card

Great case for a compact system. Lots of venting, just enough space. I have a skylake lga1151 i5 w/ 16gb RAM and a Radeon RX580 in this case. There is just enough room for the graphics card (~9.5" length), and it's generally a tight fit. That said, the case is designed such that cooling is a complete non-issue (I don't overclock). Vents are plentiful, and the main case fan gets rid of any heat buildup no problem. I have built a 2nd very similar system with this case, and no issues with that either. If you need a larger graphics card, you're going to have to get something larger, but for a basic compact gaming system this case is hard to beat.

My primary gripes with the case are with the hard drive placement and mounting, which is somewhat finicky. There is a spot for a single 2.5" drive, and a single 3.5" drive. If you need more than that you'll have to get a 2.5" adapter for the 3.5" slot to accommodate multiple 2.5" drives. Placement of the drive mounts is not ideal and could certainly be improved. Additionally, the USB 3.0 motherboard cable for the front ports is extremely thick and inflexible, which can make cable routing/management a little more troublesome than it needs to be. These issues would be problematic for someone who screws around inside the case frequently (not me).

Good microatx case balancing form and function

Pros: Reasonably good construction and build quality. Clever design for insertion and removal of 2.5" drives, but access is hampered once all the cabling is installed. Recessed power and reset buttons are a plus. Lots of ventilation. 120mm side fan included. Good price to value ratio. Supports full-sized discrete GPUs.

Cons: Sharp metal edges (watch out), a flimsy, slide out and away case cover, only 80mm fan slots making it difficult or impossible to use a liquid cooler & most of which require 120mm fans. Removing the front side of the case is not easy. ATX PSU support, but space will be cramped hampering airflow if your ATX power supply is not partially or fully modular.

Installing the motherboard was also tricky. There is no way to remove the motherboard tray from the case and careful shimmying was required to install the motherboard into the tray without damaging it. If you install the CPU and HSF assembly before installing the motherboard, you're going to have an even more difficult time and may need to remove the HSF altogether. I did this so I could test it before installing it into the case, but the wraith cooler was able to fit without issue.

I like the narrowness of the case, trading depth for width. The fact that a full length discrete GPU will be appreciated by some gamers, but my intended use case is for a solid state NAS.

Very Impressive Case

The Silverstone SG10B is quite simply one of the best Micro-ATX cases available. Having used large cases for my personal builds for years, I was a bit skeptical at first but after transferring my hardware into the SG10, I was wondering why I put up with those huge cases for so long. It is very compact in size, looks great, and its build to a very high quality standard for the price. Despite its small size, it can still fit large video cards and decent sized CPU tower style coolers.

The case has some unique design features. The power supply is up in the front of the case, which makes cable management easier. The HDD and SDD drives are installed behind the motherboard panel. Also, the only internal optical drives that will work are the slot-loading Silverstone SOB02 and SOD02B.

Airflow with the stock fans is alright, though if your GPU has a cooler on it that blows air into the case and not out the back slot, I would opt for adding fans, which is a simple process. All fans that are intake have filters which are easily popped off and cleaned.

If I had to nit-pick one thing about this case, it is that the internal power supply cable is too long. What am I talking about you say? Like I said earlier, the power supply is installed in the front of the SG10 instead of the rear like most cases. This means that a cable has to be run from the power supply to the back of the case where you normally would plug your power cord in. This interior cable is a few inches too long, and it is thick so its a bit tough to hide.

Speaking of the power supply, it is best to use a fully modular Silverstone brand power supply, as Silverstone sells a short cable set (PP05) which is absolutely necessary for this case. This case is so small that it is nearly impossible to hide cables unless you use the short cable set.

In all, the SG10 impressed me and it will impress you too.

Minimal size while still incorporating an optical drive

I bought this for a build I did for my inlaws. They needed a computer that they could put in their kitchen's corner office without taking up too much space or looking to much like a "computer". This was was able to be tucked underneath the counter out of site and the monitor cables routed up through the back so that the computer on the counter looked like an All-in-One.

Pros: Quite easy to work in despite the small size.
Drive cage is modular to make getting SSDs mounted easier
INCLUDES SCREWS for the tiny slim-line optical drive. I've never seen such tiny screws before for a computer build.
Front fan has a filter to reduce dust over time.
USB 3.0 up front
Great front to back airflow

Cons: Did not include an adapter for a slim-line optical drive connector to standard SATA
Does not use standard ATX power supplies, but rather more expensive SFX power supplies.

This case is really great for a mini-ITX build that NEEDS to be small, but still needs to have an optical drive (my mother-in-law would not let it go). I was very impressed with the quality and versatility of thise case.

Overall, if you are doing a mini-ITX build and do not need an optical drive, there are other cases out there that support full ATX power supplies that might be better choices. But if size is your ultimate factor and an optical drive is a must, this really hits all those points perfectly.
