Too small for the kitchen, too large for the bathroom.

A charming looking trashcan with an identity problem (and some mechanical issues ta boot).

1. As other reviewers have noted, the inner container where the trash actually resides is quite small: this won't work out in a kitchen as a half-gallon milk carton and a few bits of other space-eating trash will quickly fill it up so that you have to cram stuff down. So kitchens are out as a place to use this. In a bathroom, it's too sizable and will stand out. Perhaps you have a use case where this trash can makes sense, but keep in mind that its small size (and thus light weight) means it might skid a bit if you don't get your foot squarely on the (somewhat higher than you'd desire) foot peddle.

2. The unit I received was a bit wonky, mechanically. On the very first push of the foot peddle, one of the two retractable lids would not return to closed. I had to jiggle and try to squeeze the whole outer container to re-form it a bit so it would stop being stuck (and it did it again later). The interior peg that acts as the beginning of the brake to slow down the return-to-closed also has come out of alignment with the rest of the device a couple times.

This could be from shipping, giving a slight deformation to the whole unit, but a product's design must include how it's shipped in the design equation.

In the end, get the full sized version for your kitchen or whathaveyou, or, if you are looking for a slim trashcan, get something else entirely.

Bottom line: My Kickmaster Junior was a flop from the get-go when its foot pedal mechanism jammed and the canister's top-mounted 'butterfly-hinge style' opening simply wouldn't budge. I had to dislodge the pedal (not easy) in order to make a second attempt which resulted in another jam. On the third try, it jammed yet again. Clearly, this model is either ill-conceived or poorly manufactured - or both. Another negative: The Kickmaster Junior's pedal mechanism eats up a lot of the enameled canister's interior space. What little remains accommodates only a smallish, handle-less plastic container. I returned the Kickmaster Junior straightaway and ordered a Pushboy Junior as its replacement. What a difference! No more functionality issues! The Pushboy Junior's push-type opening is tight and the entire unit feels solid. The Pushboy Junior model, which lacks the Kickmaster Junior's space-eating pedal contraption, houses a sturdy metal-plus-handle container with a capacity almost double that of the Kickmaster Junior. If you have limited floor space, the Pushboy Junior offers good size, structural integrity and quality materials, all wrapped up in an attractive classic vintage look. A bonus: My superior Pushboy Junior model was priced slightly less than its flawed Kickmaster Junior predecessor! I've owned the Pushboy Junior long enough to state unequivocally that IMHO it's worth every dime!

Only 12l and not 15l like advertised!

This falsely advertise a 15l capacity when in fact it’s a 12l capacity (when you receive the box, it’s clearly written on it).
Disappointed about this, as I was looking for a bigger capacity. The product in itself however is nice.

Very, very nice can; probably the best you can get but you pay a premium for it. I love the color and the doors work very nicely. Some plastic parts inside (hinge parts and inner can) which I hate, but overall an extremely nice item to have around the house.
