The web photo shows a blue and clear lid, but I received a clear and white lid. I actually prefer the white as it has a fresh, neutral look. My older containers have the blue color, and the blue looks nice too. These glass containers hold up beautifully- I've bought about a dozen and have subjected them to almost daily use- including the heat of the microwave and dishwasher. Although some lids eventually warped and don't seal as well as they used to, they've exceeded my expectations given the years of constant use. I do think the dishwasher is what eventuallly ended up warping some of my lids. This glass container isn't heavy, but is still thick and durable Italian glass- not one of my Frigoverre containers has broken (so I'd sure love to find replacement lids). I'm a big fan of these versatile and pretty glass storage containers and think these are a superior choice to plastic. Frigoverre containers are my favorite heating and storage containers and are definitely recommended.
Four years on, I can say that I've definitely gotten my money's worth, and these containers show it. There's a little wear and tear on the lids (don't put them into the dishwasher!), but the glass is in excellent shape. The seals are still tight, the vent flipper does its thing, and the container fits perfectly into the bottom of my Columbia gate-mouth lunch bag.
It saddens me that The Container Store stopped stocking these things- and apparently the company has stopped making them. That's too bad- these had the right combination of ease of use and durability I like with my food items. I just bought two more- for backup. Grab 'em if you see 'em!
Unfortunately, after just one use in the microwave, the lid warped beyond repair and no longer fits on the container.
