This purchase was my second Platinum Carbon Desk pen. Not because there was anything wrong with the first one I purchased, but because I love this pen so much that I got tired of having to go get it from wherever it was I last used it. I purchased it originally to do some waterproof outlining in my mixed media artwork. It's the same pen as the 'Epic Pen' that Jane Davenport raves about. I love the super fine, dark black line that I get, and I love even more that it's waterproof, so I can still work with wet mediums over it without it bleeding or smudging. What I didn't expect was how much I love just writing with it! After using it in my journal and planner, if I happened to have left it with my art supplies I would have to go get it to have next to me during my work day. I've always been a fan of super fine pens, but for me this is the ultimate with the added bonus of being waterproof. Now I have two pens, one that stays in the art supplies and one that sits in a glass inkwell on my desk.

Platinum carbon makes fantastic ink, rich black, waterproof, permanent, and thick without being so thick it clogs your pens. I use their inks in my rapidographs as well as my parallel pens.2020年7月20日 在美国审核
This platinum carbon fountain pen is fantastic. The extra fine tip allows me to get lines nearly as fine as with the thinner rapidographs, yet with a bit more pressure, thicker organic strokes.
It’s a little longer than most standard pens, but it’s about the same length as the pilot parallel pens (which are also a must get if you ink a lot), but is well balanced and light weight enough to have with your kit wherever you go. Also, this thing doesn’t clog like rapidographs.
For ink, you can either get the cartridges, or buy a bottle of the platinum carbon ink and get a blunt tipped syringe to refill your old cartridge.
I rarely give 5 stars on anything, but for this guy and the pilot parallel pens, these are definitely 5 stars.
Get them all, you won’t regret it. Also refill your parallel pens with platinum carbon ink, it’s sooo much better than the stuff that comes with the pilots.
The attached photos are drawings done primarily with this pen. Some of the thicker lines are done with the parallel pen, all of the black ink is platinum carbon ink. The orange is a pentel brush pen and the washes are a blend of blues and purples in a pentel water brush.
Get them all, they’re good tools to have!
