I don't know what I was expecting, maybe a miracle. I have a shower head that's been in place for 24 years. I couldn't BUDGE it with a wrench and vice-grips. I tried WD-40 twice, allowed time for it to "soak in" with no luck. Nearly busted my gut trying to loosen it. Nothing.

I don't know what's in this "Rust Buster" but it seems more volatile (thin) than WD-40. I tried it twice, both times letting it "flow in" to the threads. Nothing. Doesn't "bust" anything. Worthless. I must say that I feel that this expensive product seems to be designed to separate nothing but me from my money.

Great product. Used it on the center assembly of our 11 year old washing machine. Unfortunately the locking nut had fused to the assembly below it. The Rust Buster liquid removed all the surface rust, but after six hours of pounding the wrench in the correct direction for this reverse-threaded nut, it would not separate, so I hacksawed it off. After that the repair was easy (though we never did fix the leak we were trying to get rid of, and wound up buying a new washer). At the end I was disappointed but realized the rust buster wasn't the problem - it actually made the whole assembly clean and rust free.

I had two rusty hinges on a ramp for a trailer. I Used this on both. One hinge came loose in a matter of 15 minutes. The other hinge required several applications more and finally heat and a mallet to loosen the 2nd hinge. I was kinda impressed with the first hinge loosening up so quickly.

I used this to loosen some bike wheel spokes that resisted truing. It works well, well especially if you let it sit for a little time. The product is very thin, as a penetrating oil should be, and really gets into the threads (and everywhere else). The cap design is flimsy, and it doesn't fit well. The company should probably spend another 5 cents and get a cap that fits snugly.

I’ve always kept a bottle of this in the garage, last purchase the packaging leaked about half a bottle, but it does what it says, sometimes just need to let us set for longer.
