Sophie Jordan grew up on a pecan farm in the Texas hill country, where she wove fantasies of dragons, warriors, and princesses. A former high school English teacher, she's also the New York Times bestselling author of Avon historical romances and the Firelight series. She now lives in Houston with her family. When she's not writing, she spends her time overloading on caffeine (lattes and Diet cherry Coke preferred), talking plotlines with anyone who will listen (including her kids), and cramming her DVR with true-crime and reality-TV shows.--此文字指其他 kindle_edition 版本。

Jacinda is back with the Pride and she's treated horribly by her own kind. Her twin sister, Tamra, has finally manifested and she's a Shader. She's treated like a prize after all the years she was treated like a pariah. Now Jacinda is treated horribly and she's pretty much left on her own. She misses Will but knows that they can't be together. Her mother is being worked so much and treated poorly and she's drinking a lot. Her best friend is mad at her as well.
Will is with his cousins and other hunters when Tamra shades them. It makes most people forget but it doesn't work on him since he's got so much Draki blood in him. He promises Jacinda that he will find her and he won't give up. His love for her and wanting to protect her. He puts himself in danger for her and goes against all he's ever known for her.
Cassian has wanted Jacinda for years. He's had his sights on her and he's been patient and kind. He's angry with her for putting herself and their kind in danger. He also tries to spend time with Tamra because he knows Jacinda keeps thinking about Will. But he can't stop himself from wanting Jacinda. He's a really great guy that has a pretty horrible family. His father is the Alpha and he keeps people in line with fear, his sister hates Jacinda and loves to become invisible and find others secrets. His cousin Corbin has his sights set on Jacinda. He's patient with her and thinks in time they will be perfect for one another.
Definitely worth reading. And ready to re-read the last book in this series - Hidden.
Jacinda along with her family are heading back to the pride with Cassian. Jacinda would have probably gotten into a lot for trouble, but her sister finally manifested on the trip. Tamra is a Shader, and they need her at the pride. Jacinda is the only fire-breather which makes her a weapon. Jacinda tries to go back to her life as it used to be, but they don't look at her the same. They look at her as a traitor. She also can let go of Will. Will shows up all of a sudden at the pride. He wants them to run away together. She doesn't want to at first, but then decides that would be the best decision for everyone. So she leaves only to realize that Miram is following her. They are taken by hunters, until Will shows up for the rescue. Miram doesn't trust them so she stays which was completely stupid. Jacinda decides to go back to pride to let Cassian know about Miram , and to let her family know that she was alive. Will said that he would be back in a week. Th pride is so mad at her that they decide to clip her wings and banish her mother. Cassian saves the day!!!! He provided an alternative. She can either have her wings clipped or be boned to Cassian. She chooses the bonding of course. She eventually runs to her sister and asks her sister to run away with her which she agrees to. Corbin shows up and gets in a huge fight with Will. Cassian shows up and stops the fight. He decides to go with them. because they are going to rescue his sister first. It is the four of them out on the road until they get to Crescent Valley and decide to take it down.
I LOVE Cassian and Will. I don't know who to choose. I loved Will in the first book, but Cassia won me over in this book. I also think there is a connection with her and Cassian even before the bonding. When they kissed, Cassian even said there are o more doubts. He knows by that kiss that they were meant for each other. I am happy they were bonded. I loved that scene. Now they are even more connected. They can feel each others feelings.
Most of the characters stay the same in this story, but some do grow. This series is one of my favorites. I can go back and reread this series and be amazed all over again. I can't wait for the third book!!!!! I recommend this series to everyone!!!!!
