This paper is for quick sketches over top of other drawings and accepts pencil, Prismacolor pencil and art marker well. Being cheap and thin encourages freedom in sketching, as you generate flexibility in thinking and movement when you think of it as a throwaway. Some architects refer to this as "bumwad", which gives you that same general idea.
The Zen and paradoxical thing about this is because of its looseness and freedom, you end up producing the occasional great drawing.
Although this traces very well and is quite sturdy, it cannot have heat applied. I often take my master patterns, patterns that have successful adjustments, and interface them for stability. The interfacing keeps them them perfect forever!
So, after over an hour of tracing, FBAs, broad shoulder adjustments, small waist adjustments, full derrière adjustments, I put the final product on this paper. I was so excited about my cheap find, I immediately went to interfacing. The picture attached is what happened.
It burnt, crinkled, waisted a yard of interfacing. NOTHING WILL STICK TO THIS! DO NOT USE HEAT!
My fellow seamstresses, I beg you: please, please spend the extra money on Swedish Tracing Paper. It sews up nicely for a quick tissue fit and holds up after multiple ribbings of a serrated tracing wheel for your darts. Also, you can permanently interface it with Pellon 808 and 809, though I wouldn't interface your darts unless you have wax paper for pattern markings.
