The Wiley X Saber came with a cloth pouch, which is nice, but which isn't much protection once you leave home or your car. So I needed a harder case. The Hazard 4 Sub-Pod was a great solution.
I did a lot of searching on Amazon and a lot of measuring, too, hoping my glasses would fit. Finally, I ordered them and don't regret a penny of the $20 spent.
They're not firm enough to survive sitting on, but they're rigid, being made of a reinforced high-density E.V.A. thermoform shape & ballistic nylon material (1000D Cordura) and they're waterproof to boot. I can clip or belt loop to hook them to my belt or a carrying strap or another bag.
They're tough and will survive anything I can throw at them, as I said, short of sitting on them or stepping on them, and I can safely carry them with me without having to worry about them.
Just for reference sake, I'm using this to store a pair of Uvex Seismic safety glasses, & it barely fits them. Any tighter of a fit & they'd have to squish a little bit. It's not that this case is small, those particular glasses are just big in every direction.
The one thing I don't like about it, is the plastic clip - it feels plenty stout, no one is expecting to use this for climbing, I'm just more of a fan of metal when it comes to clips - particularly on "tactical" gear.
I'll update this in a few months after beating this case up a little.
What I would like to see is to replace the attachment strap with a small section of vertical/horizontal webbing. I've found that the snap of the strap comes undone easily if you torque on it when accessing your stuff (I.e. Unzipping from awkward angles).
With that said, even with the strap undone, if you have the strap looped through the molle properly it won't immediately fall off your bag. I use the clip as a backup.
Feels like it was built for battle.
...well, it is a Hazard 4 product,
so I guess it should feel that way.
However, it's NOT a "Hard" case that's crush proof.
This is a well designed rigid case, but it's NOT a Pelican "Hard" Case.
So I wouldn't advise using this for extremely fragile/sensitive gear.
If you are excessively hard and rough on your gear,
then you may want to go with a true hard case like Pelican.
But it's just about perfect for any average pair of sunglasses... maybe even 2 pair.
So if you want a lightweight case that attaches to your gear in a number of different ways,
then you won't be disappointed at all when you receive this sunglasses case.
