The short story: I've been stalking this part all over the internet AND GE as well to no avail until I stumbled on it here after a brief search. It came overnight. I installed it and it works flawlessly. My ice maker is now getting water and working again. A great cheap fix. I'd order it again in a heartbeat.

The long story: I have a built in GE monogram refrigerator (ZIS420NRJ) with an ice maker. That's it - just an ice maker. There is no dispenser for water or ice on the door. Everywhere I looked (included the help center at GE if you can believe that) I was told the part I needed was GE WR57X10032. I ordered it and it was the wrong part. It has a double solenoid. Mine has only a single solenoid and single harness. Thank you to Amazon for taking back the wrong part and sending this one instead. If you have only an ice maker and no water dispenser, this is the correct part.

Btw, the GE parts department asked me several times if I had the correct model number for my refrigerator and explained that GE WR57X10032 was the only part listed for my model number. After a discussion in which I explained the single vs double solenoid situation, she spoke to her supervisor, who didn't know what part I needed, took my phone number and said she would call me back after she received an answer to her email to the "refrigerator people". I never heard back from GE so am posting my experience in hopes that it will help someone else in a similar situation.

Not an exact replacement, but it works

I was replacing a WR57X95 valve in a GE TXB21 fridge - All very generic. This valve is not an exact replacement, but it fits in the same general spot and mounts with the same screw, but it IS different. It does however, work perfectly fine, and the job it's doing is so incredibly dumb that the only thing that really matters is that it doesn't leak and it opens when it gets power to the solenoid. One thing to watch out for, however, is that if the 1/4" plastic tube that connects to the valve output needs to be smooth and free of nicks, impressions and damage. If it's messed up from the old compression fitting, and it likely is, you need to cut off 3/8" from the end to freshen it up, otherwise the push-to-connect fitting on this valve WILL leaks, but only while the valve is in the act of dispensing. So if it's an ice maker, you'll need to sit there and watch and wait for it to cycle so you can leak check it.

The ice maker in my GE Profile stopped working so rounded up the usual suspects including the ice maker itself and water valve. First replaced the ice maker. No better. That was a shame as replacing the water valve on a cabinet depth GE fridge is a real hassle as everything is accessed through a very narrow space under the fridge. Well took off the kick plate and got down on my stomach with my handy 90 degree mini ratchet screw driver and went to work. The hard part was getting access to the valve. Had to remove many screws often deep under the unit as well as a protective metal cover. After that install was a breeze.

Several hours later ice starting beng deposited into the tray. Life was good. For about a month. Then no ice. Figured the piping to the icectray froze so defrosted it and got ice for a day or two then nothing. Just like before the repair.

Here is where things go from bad to worse. Contacted the company regarding a likely defective part. Quick response. No refunds or exchanges after 30 days. What?! Defective part less than 2 months out and they are not going to stand behind their product ($12) despite their return policy. Seems awfully shady. This is the first time I have used this company. Have used several other companies for parts when I replaced the fridge defrost timer and freezer thermometer with no problems. These companies all had at least six to 12 month return policies no questions asked. Same when I repaired my microwave/wall oven Kitchen Aid built in unit requiring multiple parts for the microwave door and oven latch assembly.
As you can see I have done some extensive appliance repairs in my home and never have I run into such a situation with parts.i have also had to return other parts in the past with no problem. This time I went for the lower price part and am now going to pay the price for that decision. Something seems wrong about having to purchase the same part twice in 3 months.

So at the end of the day I am not one of those people whose gives 1 or 0 stars when I don't get my way. I give one star for quick delivery and one for a month of service with the part. I deduct 3 for faulty part and failure to stand behind the product at three months after purchase regardless of their return policy. I would not order from them again and am only happy the part was not more expensive. Shame on me for going for the lowest priced supplier and shame on them for a faulty part and refusal to stand behind their product.

I had thought this was the wrong part, since the previous valve had a threaded connection for the line to the icemaker. Nope - you just cut off the line squarely behind the compression fitting, remove the plastic circlip from the inlet on the valve, then push the line in until it stops. It's nice to have ice again!
