Why it's important to prime
Priming isn't just an extra step in the painting process - it ensures that the work and money spent painting surfaces isn't wasted. Use primer as a buffer between what you need to paint and the top coat you want to use to make sure that nothing interferes with the final appearance of your work.
Reasons to prime:
- Prevents top coat paints from flaking, scraping or scratching away easily by providing better adhesion to surfaces
- Seals or bonds to difficult-to-paint surfaces, allowing regular paint to be used on otherwise impossible surfaces
