Enough has been said about this pen. I just wanted to add a few comments. I used to complain like other reviewers about how long this pen is and I discovered two things: First, if size is a concert for you, there is a shorter version that fits better with my compact set. here is the link:

Second, after attending an Urban Sketcher's conference by looking at some advanced sketchers using the long version Sailor, I understood there's a reason for this pen being this large, an it comes down to technique. Holding this pen like a brush produces a more loose and spontaneous stroke. I'm not at that level yet but I started holding this pen like the other guys did and I noticed my sketches became more expressive, something that my friends described as my "personal touch". I know it's the way I'm holding the pen now. Try holding your Sailor from the the middle to the far end like a brush and you'll see what I mean. Now that I have both pens I mostly use the short one when I'm traveling and the long one at the studio, but definitely the long version works better with the brush-holding kind of technique.
