My review is still the same; I think this is a great replacement part. Just note that the older K-1037021-BN had a gray body and bottom piece, while the new ones have a gray body and white bottom piece. The fit is still the same, but due to lots of confusion on the Kohler website (their customer service will go by colors which is not always accurate), I wanted to mention the color change on the part.

Basically, this is a decent sink plunger, which will replace your existing (broken?) Kohler plunger.
Be sure you get the right size. Although the Kohler website seems to identify the different sizes, the site AND their customer service are clueless when to comes to differentiating these.
Basically, The 1037021 has a larger diameter "fin" piece than the 1036994, although the brushed nickel caps are the same size.
If you order a 1036994 and you really need the 1037021, you will find that the cap fits the sink drain but the plunger wobbles because the fins are too narrow. The best bet is to go by color, and if you have a plunger with dark gray fins AND a dark gray bottom piece you probably need the 1037021.
Other than that, this is a good fit and decent replacement. Kohler makes a slight indent on the bottom so you can either install this properly (hole in the bottom of the plunger threaded through the ball rod), OR incorrectly (which still works fine), with the plunger resting atop the ball rod. I see many homes where the part is installed the latter way. Personally I prefer it for easier change out.
