I've used many different keyboards over the years, this keyboard gives me the best feel without unduly tiring my hands during a long day. The placement of the Touchpad between the main keyboard and the Numerical pad is ideal, preventing me from accidentally moving the Mouse, or scrolling when unintended, and still providing easy access with my dominant hand (right).

The keyboard wears out sooner than most however, I've just ordered my 4th to replacement my most recent, which has the backspace key wearing out in only 6 months. That being said, I prefer to replace this keyboard fairly often to getting others that do not provide the comfortable work experience.

My time on this keyboard is between 8-16 hours per day, so comfort is more important than durability. Still the durability does lower the rating to 4 stars instead of 5.

Broken product, with flimsy keys and a improved touchpad

This is the 2nd time I buy this keyboard. The 1st time I didn't like that the keys some times are like flimsy, specially the large ones like the + symbol on the numeric keyboard, the backspace key or the space bar. The other thing I didn't like was that the touch pad wasn't precise. It lasted like for 2 or 3 years. Then I bought a similar one but another brand that was a complete disaster.
So I came back to this keyboard again. The flimsy keys are still... well, flimsy. But the touch pad changed. This touch pad is a lot more accurate than the other one, that I like it. A lot.
The thing I didn't like is that it wasn't well packed. It travel just in the keyboard box and and one of the two little pieces on the botton back, to stand it up, broke. So I received a broken product, with flimsy keys and a improved touchpad.

It was not clear to me from reading the product description, but this keyboard in wired. I would have preferred a wireless to replace my IR keyboard that I bought from Amazon in 2008 and which is discontinued. But this Adesso wired keyboard is great for a wired keyboard.

Plug it in, and the software installed in seconds. Like 10. On a Win 7 computer. It is pretty, with the shiny black surface with a chrome border. Like a sports car. The touchpad is the best part. Well-placed if you're right-handed, and very responsive.

I've had a keyboard with integrated touchpad for a long, long time. Back then they made things to last, I guess, I've had one from a company called ALPS for at least 15 years and it's worked great all that time. Of course, there haven't been drivers since Windows 95, but at least it emulated an ordinary PS/2 mouse and keyboard so basic functions still worked. Alas, eventually keys start breaking off and I need a new one.

There aren't very many out there! Looks like most people want a proper mouse if they aren't using a laptop, but I like touchpads. And most of the few KBs with touchpad have the pad right under the KB, where you keep hitting it when you type; no good.

This one has the pad in the right place, between the KB and the numberpad, where it's easy to use but you won't hit it by mistake. The keys feel firm, not as solid as the old-fashioned kind :-( but at least as good as the best laptop.

Note: Windows 7 detects this device natively, so as the instructions say, you don't need a driver. And they don't include one. However, there **is** a glidepoint driver out there that gives you some additional functionality. Adesso even offers it on their own website for a different model, but it works great with this one. You'll find it here:

As far as I can tell, this is the best combined KB/trackpad available today. So why not 5-star?

- I like the old-school more solid keyboards like my old one, but they don't make them anymore.
- Where's the middle mouse button? Sure the trackpad has a scroll-wheel emulator, and the glidepoint software lets you emulate a third button by clicking in the corner, but would one more button be so very hard?

But I guess that's just quibbling. If you need a device like this, this one works well right out of the box.

Mouse pad has multiple issues

I wanted to replace my Adesso WKB-4400UB which is getting old and a bit worn. I had to return this new unit because the mousepad had multiple issues. The keyboard appeared fine but I didn't have it long enough to really exercise it.
1. Track pad extremely flakey: try to move mouse in one direction, pointer flies to other side of screen. This despite changing the Windows 10 mouse sensitivity level very low.
2. Mouse buttons very stiff, requiring a lot of effort to click. Aggravates my carpal tunnel symptoms.
3. Mouse buttons only worked after moving the mouse pointer, i.e. could not click after mouse had stopped moving for a few seconds - had to 'jiggle' the mouse to get the mouse click to register.
