The lids have ridges for easy stacking, and the bases have graduation marks for handy measuring. Safe to use in the microwave, freezer and dishwasher, the TakeAlongs lid design allows you to worry about one less thing. If you hear the click, you know your seal is secure.

Just really disappointed in a company and product I used to really like.
Disclaimer - before I realized that my set of 2 cups leaked, I bought MORE of these on Amazon 2 days ago. I haven't opened these, yet, and am considering returning them right away. But the ones in use right now were purchased from another online store (2 cup and 1.2 cup multipacks).
So I definitely wouldn't recommend these for anything liquidy. Only for completely dry food. The tops don't twist off, but since they're not air- or water-tight, there's not a lot of point to them. I'll have to replace them with something else.
Something is wrong. They should neither crack nor leak and they do. I contacted Rubbermaid and am waiting for a response. It might make sense to wait to order these until there is more info. I'll post what I hear from Rubbermaid.
Here is the response I received Rubbermaid:

Rubbermaid TakeAlongs were designed to provide a simple food storage
solution, at an affordable price. They are intended to be a value
container that you can afford to give away, if you choose. They are also
great for use on-the go because you don't have to worry about losing
them or leaving them behind. Unlike Rubbermaid durable containers, these
are not meant to withstand long-term use.
TakeAlongs do not carry a warranty.
The email serves as a warning that they are buying 'disposable' containers from a company that does not stand behind the quality of its products. Their stuff used to be pretty good.
I sent Rubbermaid a letter after I got their email laying out the defects. I explained that the bowls had seen light usage and were not at all like the bowls these new ones replaced. They sent me coupons to replace 8 bowls and a letter thanking me for my loyalty. This is the response I expected from the beginning. If you get defective bowls, even though they are barely $1.00 per bowl and almost not worth the effort, I suggest you write them.
