I'm a professional calligrapher and have tried a few hot foiling products on the market. If you don't have the budget to buy the awesome kit sold by Mike Ward, I'd say give this one a try!

Unlike many comparable products, this pen is electrically -not battery- powered. That makes a difference in getting the tip hot enough to not have to sit on the foil forever. It reacts quickly and accurately, it doesn't leave behind patches of foil that you have to try and fix after the fact, and the results are durable. I've enjoyed using it and look forward to more projects using this pen!

(Side note, I'd recommend We R Memory Keepers in general)

This is an amazing innovation in crafting. Foiling SO easy and SO cheap!!!! Possibilities are endless! Okay. Possibilities are endless if you try, learn anything and don’t expect a magic wand to come out of the package. It’s not going to do the work for you. BUT that being said even the most novice crafter can find a use for this. SO MUCH FUN. if you read a bad review on one pen or another. Ignore. They’re looking for the magic wand. You can use stencils, trace stuff, stamp stuff and trace. You don’t have to know how to do much if you don’t want to but, try really. AND you can take it with you wherever! Get a battery pack which I’m sure you already have for the 10,000 devices we all have laying around these days and sit down and make some pretty. You’ll be so glad you did. Sparkle up an invitation or an impromptu card. Add a little pizazz to a journal, a lunch bag, a headband, some earrings, a bag, a purse, a pencil pouch, a microfiber cloth you clean those 10,000 devices with... need I go on.? Just get one. You’re crafty. Otherwise you wouldn’t be here reading this. Just buy one. You’ll find a use for it. If you can draw, you can trace over drawings you’ve already made like another reviewer suggests. Super smart. Get it done. Foil it up. You’ll be glad you did. Who doesn’t enjoy a little of that.? Oh, also good for you that can hand letter. Like I said, So many possibilities. You CaN. Do It. Have Fun!!!!!
