Sometimes it works - sometimes it doesn't. Should be part of a multi pronged approach. Don't rely on this solely as the deer will eventually become used to it and no longer fear it - like reverse "trap shock". If your yard/plants are in the "feed path" and there are few resources around that make your property look like a beacon, these will not work alone. Use in conjunction with other types of products. If they are very hungry there is nothing short of a "lead allergy" that will deter them (putting it bluntly - bullets)
Works for me2013年5月18日 - 已在美国亚马逊上发表
These are the only ones that repel deer, rabbits and groundhogs for me. They don't work for chipmunks. I have heard that others say the deer get over their dislike of it, but I have not experienced that yet. You do however have to at least double the number of stations you put in, which makes the price of this product quite expensive. However the pay off is so much better if you want flowers veggies and shrubs that deer like to munch. They last. It can rain and there is no lessening of the effect. Thank goodness. In an area where there is a deer breeding ground above me, and early spring brings a relative leveling of anything that dares to start sprouting before the new bait stations go in, the difference is amazing. I should say that I do one supplemental feeding of Irish Spring flakes (that we shred) as I put the stations. Irish Spring + the liquid deer off does not achieve the same results. But they aren't cheap and one set of 6 will not protect even a small area.
Mixed results this year with the bait stations2015年7月9日 - 已在美国亚马逊上发表
I have used this product successfully in the past, but this year the results were mixed. Flower beds where I put out the bait stations before there was much to nibble on did well. Beds where deer had started to browse did not fare so well after the bait stations were inserted. In fact, one bed of prized day lilies was totally decimated. I am feeling quite cross about that! This particular bed is located near a trail the deer use regularly, so location is a factor. Susceptible flowers planted with other not so tasty items fared better. Using these stations requires some manual dexterity in assembling them, so they are harder for those with arthritic fingers to use. To say it was "okay" is a bit of a stretch, but it did work in some areas.

This actually works! For years I have had deer gobble up my garden treasures, especially the hosta, despite using liquid fence. Liquid fence does work if you remember to spray it on once a week (instructions say once a month). This year, I put out about 18 Sweeney bait stations PLUS sprayed with liquid fence every two or three weeks. For the first time in years, my hosta plants still have leaves in September and I have at last been able to enjoy the fall flowers of my Autumn Joy Sedum (deer favorites). I put out the bait stations around June and they lasted all season, despite an unusually rainy summer. I will definitely do this again next summer.
salad bowl for deer2012年7月25日 - 已在美国亚马逊上发表
Purchased these pods last year and they worked beautifully. This year, I did the same, purchased and placed them around the beds of flowers. They did not deter the deer for some reason. The deer consumed my hostas, lilies and there are stumps of flower stems all over the place. The deer certainly have enjoyed eating all the goodies in the beds. I managed to save a couple lilies by putting one of the pods right up on top of the lily. They also consumed geraniums potted and right at the bottom of front porch steps. The remaining pot of geraniums is in the bed with one of the pods plunged into the pot. Have no idea why they did not work this year but was disappointed in them.
