Full-Trowel Filler Full-Trowel Filler is thinner than Wood Patch, and designed to spread across the surface of the wood floor. Just pour a workable puddle and trowel the floor, going back and forth across the cracks and voids to ensure deep penetration, removing excess filler as you go. Available in 1-gallon containers, in all 16 colors listed in color chart.

So far, it seems to work as described

Pros:
- It's fairly easy to apply
- It has almost no odor
- Sands well
- Takes stain really well (as long as you let it fully dry)

Cons:
- It says it covers 600-1000 sq/ft. It does not. I've used it on old floors with alot of gaps and cracks and I've used it on new floors that only had slight separation. So I can safely say that it covers only about 200-400 sq/ft. So if you're applying it on 2000 sq/ft of floors in good condition, you'll probably need 6 of these.
- The second tub I got was covered in mold. I don't know if this is Amazon's fault or the manufacturer's, but I've never seen anything like that before. I've used tons of different types of wood filler, pre-mixed joint compound, etc and I've never seen anything like that happen with any other products. The other 4 tubs that I purchased were in good condition though.

Overall, I'd definitely use it again. It's only been a few weeks so I don't know if it will crack out yet, but so far so good.

Worth the effort!

We just refinished 700 square feet of red oak flooring that had 1/4 to 1/2 inch gaps in it from 20 years of expansions and contraction. The first photo shows the gaps filled prior to sanding and staining. We did have to apply multiple coats in some areas is it did shrink when drying. We were changing the color of our floors so we were unsure what this product would look like with the stain on it. The second picture is the finished red oak floor with a coat of Puritan Pine stain and 2 coats of satin poly. We love how the filler sanded and took the stain! It was troweled on just like laying tile. Would definitely recommend!!

Easy application & less sanding if excess removed before curing

I used this product on a Red Oak floor right from the mill, so lots of irregularities. As directed, I troweled it on after first run with drum sander. It did seem to shrink a little so went over a 2nd time before the next grit. Sometimes a 3rd. Finished w/ Bona Nordic & Bona Traffic. Looks great. I even touched up some flaws after the sealer but before the poly. It’s only been a week but looks solid. The filler would probably take stain better than the Nordic whitewash. It stays the same color as out of the bucket w/ Nordic so pick your color wisely if using same process. I tended to “grout” it in by wiping off excess to eliminate excessive sanding. Very pleased for my first floor.

Filling grain and small cracks and gaps with a full-trowel wood filler before sealing or staining and then topcoating is the key difference between a beautiful hardwood floor and one that looks like an HGTV-binging wannabe flipper screened and recoated on the cheap. Bought the “Pro” brand stuff at the big orange store out of convenience. It wasn’t dried out but was miserable to apply. Didn’t trowel smoothly, clumped up, and was otherwise just annoying to work with. Ordered a gallon of Woodwise and what a difference. Trowels easily, doesn’t clump and roll up, spreads smoothly to the thin layer you want before sanding with 100 grit, and dries quickly for finish sanding. Couldn’t ask for anything better.

Good for what you spend....good color too

Was worried this was going to be too red but it turns out it dried way nicer than the other kind I was using. It was a little harder to put in than the other one I was using though... It dried alot quicker and became like clay quicker.
