I have an old Cannondale MTB that is awesome but was designed as a stiff efficient race bike, before the era of suspension anything. It’s a great responsive ride but it’s stiff off-road. I am making it a commuter/ knock around rig and added a Brooks spring saddle. Huge improvement. The problem is that the seat frame has a steeper angle than normal saddles. So the saddle is tilted forward a bit. So you slide which is annoying
The Nitto 83 has plenty of adjustment for angle. Put the saddle anywhere you want. Holds like it’s welded in place. I’ve had creaks and squeaks forever on this bike and that of gone. The bolts on the clamp are enormous which has to be a factor.
I can’t imagine someone complaining abut the weight. If your concerned about the weight of this part you have no real problems to worry about in your life.
Oh yeah it’s awesome looking too.
