Solid rust converter. Similar to other converters but water based and less expensive. It's my personal favorite, and I have literally tried them all after twenty plus years.
Rather than cover territory other reviewers have shared, let me just share a few tips on how to use Corroseal effectively.
Tip one, use a needle scaler. Many of the "failed" photos here it's obvious that this important step was missed. Only a needle scaler (or chipping hammer if you have the patience) will remove layered rust. A wire brush or sandpaper will not remove layers. Start with a needle scaler.
Tip two, sand paper. Wire brushes can gloss over the rust and create a burnished layer. Use sand paper to expose and remove loose rust.
Tip three, don't use oil based cleaners before application. Also don't use soap...duh, YouTube people. Rubbing alcohol is cheap and works well for this step.
Tip four, apply in a thick layer. This might just be the most valuable tip I can share on Corroseal. Don't just brush on a layer and leave. Brush on a layer, wait 15 minutes and then brush on another. Wait 15 minutes again and brush on another layer. Most applications fail or develop brown spots on top because the product was not applied thick enough. Be generous with it, lay it on thick.

I used this sample around my house for small rusted objects
I must say i learned that this product does wonders when it come to converting rust.
No doubt the best product i have ever used
I purchased a fixer uper Bush Hog for my tractor which had some pretty heavy to light rust recently.
I knew right what to do, i purchased a gallon of Corroseal to tackle this project!

People having problems are not following the instructions. I hit my rust with a wire wheel to knock off anything loose, cleaned with solvent to remove anything else loose and grease/oil (even the oil from your hands). The brushed this on with a cheap chip brush. It goes a very long way. I see pictures of people who used a paint roller, which leaves texture and gaps, and they are suprised that they have rust coming through... You missed a million pock marks guys. After it dries, give it 24 hours to dry per the instructions you can paint it with out based paint. But what I did was go back and look for any bleed through. Chemistry 101 folks, if you have more rust than the coroseal, the corroseal is the limiting reactant so you need more corroseal to complete the reaction. So if it is not jet black (bronze brown or rust)... Hit it again.
Then wait another 24 hours before painting.
I will put up under carriage pictures later but here is a brake booster. The under carriage I gave two coats of corroseal, 1 coat of Rust-Oleum primer then 1 coat of oil enamel too coat.
