Pretty Decent Pot Rack

I have an 8-foot ceiling, so I ordered the additional low ceiling arms (I've included a photo). The pot rack is well-made and solid, and the instructions are pretty straightforward. There's a Snaptoggle drywall anchor installation video at toggler.com that's helpful in getting the provided drywall toggles installed right. Be sure to raise the movable plastic bolt on the toggler all the way up as far as it will go after you've drilled your 1/2 inch hole, and drawn the anchor on the toggler to the perpendicular position on the inside of the hole. Otherwise, it will just spin when you try to secure the rack to the ceiling with provided hardware bolts or hooks, and you'll have to buy another toggler set at Lowe's and repeat the procedure. That said, if you have 5/8" drywall in your ceiling, each anchor point supports 356 lbs., which is pretty impressive. I'm giving this item a 4-Star rating rather than 5 for 2 reasons: 1) I really don't like the regular-angled cookware hooks: I think all the provided hooks should be bent-angled so as to accommodate more pots/pans on the rack. As it is, you get 6 of each type (regular vs. bent-angled). 2) You get 2 separate grille sections, each 6" wide, with 3 movable bars to "secure" them to the rack...and that's it. The grille sections "slide," as there's no provided hardware to otherwise fasten them together, to the rack or the support bars, necessitating your doing the task yourself with wires, plastic clips etc. Not sure why the manufacturer doesn't provide a single 12 by 22" grille and some type of fastener, but I'm otherwise and altogether pleased with the product!

Solid but poorly designed cheap pot rack

This pot rack is solid but with major design shortcomings. I bought this with the idea of using it at 24'' width. Assembled it. The assembly was needlessly complicated and the directions are painful to put it charitably. After assembly, I realized that the grid that sits in the middle are completely unsecured!! The grid is made of two pieces of size 22x6 inches each. They just sit on top of the three support metal bars that hang on the main rectangular frame. The middle rod does not even touch the grid and whole unit, the middle support rod, two pieces of grid are free to jiggle and move. So, I am debating whether to tweak things to make it work or take the trouble to disassemble, pack and ship it back. There is single one star review which mentions the same problem, I completely missed this salient detail. I also bought the Low ceiling arms for our 8' ceiling, so involves additional cost, time and money shipping that back too. Based on these design flaws I would not recommend the rack.

I have another concern that if you hang heavy pot only on one side of the grid and you do not stack anything heavy on top of the grid, then, I think the unsecured grid will go belly up on you! Stacking any large heavy pot is not an option for low ceilings ( 8 foot ceiling), there is not sufficient clearance with 8 foot ceiling and using Low Ceiling arms to secure the rack. Off course the hooks supplied slide freely within the grid

BTW, Enclume website recommends this design to be used on ceilings 9 foot or higher or you will need low ceiling arms to have enough clearance and visibility with pots hanging.

Update: OK, decided to keep the rack and make it work for my kitchen. The installation is very easy and the togglers for drywall ceiling is the best!! One way I fixed the jiggling and movement of grids and support bar was with use of small cable zip ties. Secured the grids together and to the support bar, so there is no wiggle room for the grids. The middle support metal rod/bar was immobilized with a piece of medium/thin weight felt with sticky backing( used for furniture, bought at OSH). I didnot stick it, but used it folded over. This provides the middle support bar with enough thickness for it to hang on the main frame without allowing it to move. So, the entire grid system is quite solid, stable and secure with this tweaking. I think it will stay secure with heavy pots and pans hanging it now. In case the zip ties give out, it is trivial to secure them with zip ties. Added benefit of using Low Ceiling arms is that it secures the entire rack solidly anchored and prevents swinging, which would be the case while hanging and taking off pots in its original configuration. On the downside, the whole grid is way high, that top of the grid cannot be used for storing lids, pots etc.

This product works perfectly and holds lot of items. It's very sturdy and we get lots of compliments on it. We have had it a couple years+ now. No issues whatsoever. We have 9ft ceilings and I am only about 5'3 so it's sometimes a stretch getting things down depending on where they are placed on the rack but I am always able to do it without need of a stool etc...we have it hanging over an island and it works perfectly, very convenient and so nice to not have all of these things taking up space in our cabinets. I believe when I purchased this, it stated you could put things on the top like a shelf, I don't see how anyone would be able to reach that for any practical use but you don't need the additional space to store more than a full set of pots/pans anyway- we have a full set plus a couple add on sets and some random pots or pans added over the years as well- all can be stored on just this one rack.

I have been digging pots and pans out of the back of a cabinet for years now and grew tired of it. Plus, we needed the extra cabinet space AND I needed to reduce the clutter of stacked pots and pans. The oval shape, along with the general lines of this particular pot rack appealed to me. I also purchased the Enclume MPT-12 RACK IT UP Trim Ceiling Covers (set of 2) for a finished look.

My photo of the product is included in the above Customer Images (the one with the words "EAT" in the background). It literally cleared out my entire cabinet of pots, and my stockpot and another large pot easily fit on the Enclume MPG-10 RACK IT UP Grid and Brackets I ordered for the top. You can purchase all three and get extra savings.

The best part was that it was all part of Amazon Prime--so I got it in two days without paying shipping.

My husband thought the toggle anchors ingenius. The install was quick and easy and now we're enjoying the "look" and the extra cabinet space!
