Caramelization? Where?

Just received this pin and the first thing I got when I took it out of the plastic wrap was a tiny sliver of wood in my finger when I ran my hand down the length of it. It is rough, and there is not a iota of caramelization or smoothness anywhere about this rolling pin. I guess that's why it's so cheap, they're skipping that process, but shafting the customer because no one wants splinters in their fingers or their food. Extremely disappointed with this pin. But I'll find a use for it other than pasta or pie crusts to avoid the hassle of dealing with "the Helen Chen" people. Don't waste your time on this one. Not worth it the gamble of eeny meeny miney moe they play with who will get a properly done one or one that was chopped from the tree and mailed off.

The rolling pin itself is sturdy enough. It was mostly smooth but could've beeb smother. There was also a small hole around one of the edges that made me knock down a star. A little disappointed when I saw that but otherwise fine.

The rolling pin I received looks nothing like the picture and was very rough. There was no caramelized color to it. You could get splinters from it.

Very large, thick rolling pin that is true and straight. Love the bamboo. It may need to be treated with food-safe oil after heavy use because it has been only very lightly treated.
