Does not fit my 1969 Super Classic 13 & 16 toms.2018年9月9日 - 已在美国亚马逊上发表
Ludwig started using this screw style damper about 1968 & into the 70's. Prior to 68 it was a rotating bat. I own a 1969 Super Classic shells and misplaced the dampers (found later). My original damper looks like this one on the outside but it is reversed on the inside. If your kit is from the 60's this will not work on the toms. The rotating dampening screw should be on top and the stationary screw on bottom. Maybe this damper fits Ludwig models without reinforcing hoops or maybe for snares. If someone wanted to get creative you can probably bend & file this to work. Then drill out the stationary hole to accommodate the damper screw & get a larger stationary screw. I don't care to do this. I will add that the quality appears good.

Was not impressed that Ludwig would sell this product with a ordinary machine screw. This screw was tarnished and showing signs of rust. The least one would expect would be a Stainless Steel machine screw. Picture this....With shining Chrome Hardware in your rig, with a very noticeable dull machine screw.
It’s OEM and a cheap fix for those pesky missing mufflers!2019年10月30日 - 已在美国亚马逊上发表
Ok. If you are a drummer, what follows will make sense. The internal spring was a bit tight and made the felt sit up against the head bottom a bit too closely. A bit of pressure on the spring worked wonders and the muffling is just right now when the knob is set just above loose tension.

A time honored design- so why did they decide to switch the mounting screw to the top of the bracket instead of where it was? So that you have to buy the "real" thing on ebay for $39-$59? I love Ludwig drums, and I know their quality and manufacturing aren't what they were before the Monroe move. The "new" P85 strainer for example, is not as good as the 70's model and it's not a good replacement for vintage snare drums. Neither is this muffler, which works as well as the original- but any Ludwig fan will know it's not the original at a glance- plus the knob used to be slightly higher on the shell when mounted and will not be exactly where your old one was on an older snare. But it's 2014 and you save money when you can- and it works just like the original and does a great job.
moon gels overrated2014年5月29日 - 已在美国亚马逊上发表
I like this old style of drum dampening. Drums used to come with these on all drums. Even bass sometimes. I put this on my snare and threw the moon gels at my kids. I think drum companies are being cheap to not add dampening systems to their expensive drums. Most drummers dampen with aftermarket products so the drum companies should save us a step. Easy install with a drill. Minus two stars for not being very rugged even from Ludwig. Ahhh...they just don't make them like they used to.
