I got this b/c I wanted a quick release when using my 502AH fluid head. The quick slide rail on the head covers my camera's battery/memory card door so having the camera screwed into that made it very inconvenient as I'd have to unscrew the camera every time I wanted to change the battery. or grab the memory card.
Unfortunately, the 323 RC2 comes into conflict with the head, so you can't use it in conjunction.
Other than that, it's very sturdy and made of metal. I like the mounting and release mechanism very much. I may yet find a use for it, or I'll just return it.
Manfrotto really needs to make an adapter for smaller cameras so you can still use the 502ah and their 323 system.
