The Neotech Tuba Harness conforms to the shape of your body and evenly disperses the weight of the instrument while absorbing the shock of your movements. The neoprene pad forms a comfortable and stable yolk across the top of the back and shoulders. The cushion stays just where you need it -no matter the amount of moving and grooving you do while playing. The self-adjusting harness freely glides through the hardware located in the back which increases your mobility without sacrificing comfort. The Neotech Tuba Harness is designed with both men and women in mind for the comfortable fit.The unique attachment system offers two connection options to fit most types of tubas. One option offers a cradle for the lower section of the instrument made of a unique wrap support. It is covered in a non-marring material to protect against abrasion to the tuba's finish. This option is ideal for tubas that do not have an attachment eyelet located on the lower section. The second option offers loop connectors that can be attached directly to the eyelet located on the lower section of some tubas. These loops then attach to the snap hooks on the main body of the Neotech Tuba Harness.

As a side-note, having a tuba harness is kind of like carrying a pocket knife. You don't ever think you'll need one but then when you start carrying one you will use it all the time! Or maybe I am weird and just enjoy standing with my tuba.
I Have a JZ400 C tuba and it fits perfectly. THERE WILL BE SOME TRIAL AND ERROR! Everyone is built differently and It took me a couple of trys to get the best fit ( This is vital for me because I practice standing up alot AND I'm 6 foot 9). It took me several tries to get the right fit.
Also if you think it should be super tight you thought wrong. If the harness were to fit tightly you would have NO room to (#1) breath correctly and (#2) bring the horn to your face! As a tubist I had the mindset that it would fit like a saxophones harness but this is very ignorant. All harnesses don't fit the same.
Pros: This makes my horn feel weightless! I can practice for several hours without my arm getting tired etc! It it very fun to stand up and maneuver with my horn.
The stitching is VERY stable and if I were to let go of my horn it would sit in midair until I picked it up again. ( No that is not irresponsible. I wanted to know if this product works or not!) So if you're wondering wether you can drop your instrument with this product NO YOU WON'T! It will catch it for you!
If you are worrying about the size.... I would get the regular for starters. I am 6 foot 9 inches and the regular size fits me perfectly. (Take in consideration that I have a loooonnngggg torso.) So if I were you get the regular and adjust to comfort. Then if it's to large get the Junior size.
One thing not mentioned by other reviewers is the size of the tuba. For example 4/4 tubas vary a lot in height. Mine is a Hirsbrunner 4/4 BBb horn. It is shorter and wider than a kaiser-style tuba (Miraphone 186 and many others). Horns made by most good companies (Adams, B&S, Hirsbrunner, Miraphone, Meinl, and others) can come in either configuration. I don't know if the junior size harness will fit by Hirsbrunner but I do know that the regular size is too long. Frustrating!
So after writing this review, I decided to try the straps that go on the bottom bow as opposed to those that go on the tuba loops. This worked better but it is still a difficult job to make a fit. In all I spent 3 hours trying to make this harness work. If I was a leather worker, I would customize a harness to use the 4 loops on my tuba and have it fit me exactly.
Now for the bad... the sizing is poorly thought out. I'm 6'1" and the "regular" straps are far too long. My mouthpiece misses my face by about 3" with the straps shortened to the max. I would need to tilt my head like a chicken or pull the horn up with my left arm to play with good posture.
I just ordered the JUNIOR size and I'll be sending the regular back. Don't just take it from me (see other reviews here and on TubeNet that account the same issue). Order a size SMALLER than logic would dictate, especially if your horn doesn't have built-in attachment points (the extra strap accessories will add length).
I hope this review helps. It's really a fine product with a few sizing quirks.
