I've found this to be the best all around cutting oil for manual milling and turning. It's a little stinky and smokes up a room but the tools stay sharp!
I tried to other namebrand oil's that I could tell were getting to hot and bubbling from the heat. I switched to the ridgid oil and it was like I was using a different machine with brand new dies. I threaded up to 2 inch using a rigid 400 machine and the oil Keeps the threads and dies cool and it moves through the pump gun beautifully. Best advice anyone has ever given me about threading is that the oil does the cutting
I am not sure what the difference is between thread cutting oil and plane cutting oil but I like this stuff. I use it primarily when drilling with my drill press. It is fairly thick and clings well, yes it can smoke and is oily. However the up side is that it does improve drilling, tool stays cooler and cutting is quicker. I have noticed less de buring and cleanup. The best cutting fluid I have used to date!
This cutting oil is great stuff. It is not highly viscous, it penetrates nicely and does a great job. I used it to do some milling work and it behaves very nicely during cutting. It does not produce fumes or smoke and it has a very pleasant lubricant smell, not noxious at all. It is also apparently non irritating as I my hands were in contact with it for hours with no adverse effects.
It’s cutting oil if you don’t know already what it’s for I would suggest you go and buy a different brand at your local hardware store it’s probably next to the unicorns
