This is my favorite all around pop filter but it does require a special technique and needs to be positioned a certain way. I was expecting a bit more for a well respected $40-60 dollar pop filter. The build quality is fantastic except for a couple of little things. The first one is the clamp. Would it kill them to put another rubber strip on it to prevent scratching? It isn't very expensive to do and for a pop filter in this price range it should have something there. Not a big deal because it is easy to fix but it should have come with something. My biggest complaint is the metal pop filter mesh. I don't know if it is welded, glued, or apoxied. I would have preferred two small hex bolts to hold it in place so I wouldn't have to worry about if it is sturdy or not. Also this does require a special technique to work. My cheap one blocks 100% of plosives without coloring the sound. The Stedman Proscreen 101 doesn't unless you position it a certain way and talk carefully. If you blow into it a bit or make a loud pop sound the metal mesh makes it's own unique noise. It sounds like air hitting metal mesh. Better than a loud pop but I don't want any noises. A pop filter should not make noise for any reason or require any special techniques.
The things that I love about it is the size and how see through it is. I hate having a big black disc in my face. Also this one stays where I put it and doesn't have a fragile mesh. Like all things it has its pros and cons. It is still my favorite pop filter and I certainly recommend it. Just make sure that you are aware about the technique that this pop filter requires.
