Update: I've seen a lot of negative reviews where people are complaining that the turner is curved or it's not strong enough to cut food. These people are IDIOTS and I wouldn't trust them with a stapler. This is a turner, that is all. The reason it's curved is because if it was flat (as some 1star reviews have requested) it would bend backwards under the weight of whatever you're flipping. It would be like trying to flip something with a piece of paper. A piece of paper flimsily bends back and forth, but put a crease down the middle, now it's rigid enough to stand on its own. Same idea here. It's basically meant to bend 1-way only. It won't bend backwards easily, which allows you to actually flip things. The only reason I'm changing it from a 5 to 3 star review is that the tac-welds are weak. I had my first one for 2 years, but my latest one only lasted 9 months! Outstanding little turner, I just wish it was more durable
UPDATE: My old turner is the medium size. I went ahead and bought a large one this time because the price difference was minimal and maybe it would make turning things like large pancakes even easier. I wish I'd gotten a second medium. I don't think there is any difference in being able to turn larger items, and you lose just a little control. Five stars still for the medium turner, the large is more like 3.5 stars. I hate to ding any stars because the medium turner is still the best and very deserving of 5 stars.
Update 4-1-2016. I've used the smaller spatula for a full year now in a 10 inch iron skillet and I have raised my rating to 5. It is very thin strong, and flexible. As mentioned before there is a slight side-to-side curve in the blade that stiffens it and keeps food on the blade instead of dumping it. The blade is so thin it easily slides under egg from the side or end of the blade without breaking the yolk. I reserve the larger spatula for a 12 inch skillet or griddle.
I'm ordering another small size today so I have one available when the other is in the dishwasher.
