A brilliant collection of work, not a working manual

I was disappointed that there was no information on how he created his paintings. Admirable results, but page after page mostly about his personal artistic philosophy, not how to achieve it. I thought some of his work leaned more towards illustration than fine art. He definitely produces exquisite light, but had hoped he would share how to produce it, not just that value is important.

I like Schaller's work. Very talented artist. However, not much instruction as to how he achieves his technique. The text is more about Schaller's artistic statement and views. Thus no demonstrations or information as to how he created his art.

This book has helped me understand genius. The genius of watercolor as demonstrated by Thomas W Schaller works which emphasize light, listening, and the connections to our inner selves as shown by this collection of paintings. As one
explores Thomas' collection, feelings of awe, beauty, and reverence emerge. To me, he is a very deeply rooted man whose work has or will produce a stir in us all. Bravo Thomas W Schaller for you are a master!

Absolutely amazing book. Thomas is real Master in Renaissance sense of this world.
His art is very unique. Excellent quality of pictures and his thoughts about art and artists
and his philosophical approach to art. I can not find enough words to praise this book.
If you love art, painting and watercolor you should have it.

This is a lovely book with many beautiful watercolor painting. Thomas W. Schaller is a master painter, and each painting is lovely to look at and to contemplate. His writing in every chapter help explain his aims in presenting his paintings. I am enjoying this book very much.
