Good history of Cherokee Nation2014年8月19日 - 已在美国亚马逊上发表
As a native Oklahoman I've known snippets of the Indian Removal Act from the study of my state but Ms Dailey brings it together from the cause of the removal, to the Cherokees struggle to remain in Gerogia, to the resultant division of the tribe and the hostility within the Cherokee people. Temple Stuart is a woman caught between her husband, whom she loves and is loyal to, and her family who is on the opposite side of the Removal Act struggle. The story is history brought to life and Temple endures the Trail of Tears with dignity and with her humanity in tact. She overcomes the struggles of rebuilding her life in the new territory.

This is one of the BEST books on the era before the Civil War and the Cherokee people I have ever read! I am African American with Cherokee blood. I like the romance angle too, showing not all Native Americans were savages
Good read! Five stars!

The portrayal of the Cherokee Indian culture and the terrible way they were treated was good, although I doubt that the main aristocratic Indian characters were actually representative of very many Indians at that time. I would have preferred to have seen more about the lives of ordinary people. The story itself was a little boring and more than predictable.

I am an avid book reader... I enjoy many different types of books, and when I picked this one up, I mostly did so because I wanted something light and romantic to read. This book is not that way at all! From the silly cover, it looks like a cheesy romance novel, and I wouldn't have gotten it except all of the reviews for it were really good. It was hard for me to get into for the first few chapters (as most books are for me) but after that I was hooked! This book is amazing! I really enjoyed it, and it is full of real American history along with so many deep and hard things in life. I laughed (not very much), I cried, and I couldn't put it down. It is anything but light and cheesy. LOVE this book!! I have already ordered and will be reading more of Janet Dailey's work, she does an amazing job!!

Very interesting book about the Indians back in the 1800’s when their homes and land was taken away from them. The Indians had to travel to different states through extremely hot and then frigid temperatures. Many of them died on the journey that was called the Trail of Tears.
