Nice series

I liked the first five books in this series. I liked how one book went from one character and moved to another all remaining connected to the knit shop. In each book the characters are all friends and their lives conect in various ways. The last book; however, left me cold as a new, unrelated, character is introduced. I never really felt a conection to her.

All of the books are a very pleasant read. I felt comfortable living in their village and walking about with them... being part of their little mysteries and so on. The reason I gave it 4 stars is just that, they are a pleasant read not something that really moves me or makes a difference in me. I would definately recomend them as light reading.

First book-- enjoyed it in a general way. However, there are some real clinkers... for example:
she shopped at Coldwater creek which is an average womans store and needed help to do it? also she was going to Paris where there are more beautiful clothes per square inch than in the rest of the world ( almost)....so why buy specifically coldwater creek? why not lord and taylor? why not Neimans? why not Dillards in the south? was the author paid to mention them?
women who fly first class with rich boyfriends do not buy clothes there.
all of the women are so nicey nice. even in the best of worlds, there are always people who are not so nice, not so sweet etc. so for that reason, it did not ring true for me. I just do not know of a perfect circle of friends where no one is catty/wicket/ etc. and thats what makes groups interesting.. a bit of a shake up once in a while. All her friends think everything is ok. hmmm.
the rest was enjoyable.. so good luck with this one.

Not Disappointed

As usual, the book was a page turner... hard to put down.... the characters made me laugh out loud, tear up, nod in agreement, shake my head in understanding.... the characters seem "real" and I met some new Cedar Key "friends" in this book! Marin's emotions were felt in my heart as I read... Dora's secret made me sad but glad she was able to tell Marin and move past it. Finally got to visit Cedar Key last month, the weekend of the Arts Festival -- it was almost exactly as I had pictured it from the descriptions in the series on Cedar Key. Met a few locals who were warm and welcoming and spoke of Terri with great affection. I am looking forward to, and yet dreading, the next but final book in the series.... and will be waiting after that for the first book in a new series!! Thanks to Terri for taking us to this lovely seaside fishing village and letting us befriend its residents!

Secrets on Cedar Key...awesome!!

I have read all of Terri DuLong's books about Cedar Key and this...the latest in the series...certainly didn't disappoint. Her characters are all so likeable and I almost think of them as people that I know as she continues their stories in other books while adding new people that you learn to love. I have a picture of what Cedar Key and the area looks like that I remember when I read the next book. I can't wait for her write another in this series! Even though she tries to describe each character in subsequent books it is helpful to start reading the series from the beginning.

Terri has done it again!!

I mostly read non fiction. But then I found Terri's work and I find myself so happy when a new work of hers is out!
This follows her other books, as they all tie in together really. I am an avid knitter and spinner and so I resonate with the way she crafts in this hobby with the characters. I find the plot highly moving, and the characters now feel like some old friends of mine.
Terri is one fabulous writer and I love the way her mind thinks of crafting knitting into a great story!
