It's always great for a child to learn that we are all different and special in our own way.
(A great thing for grown-ups to learn too!)
I think it is a must have for your children's book collection.
On the technical side: the illustrations are cute, it is easy to understand, it has a great message, and it has a kind of musicality, so it is perfect for reading aloud.
(I'm low-key hoping they start making plush Rumple Buttercup toys with detachable banana peel)
Wow. We have a million books for my son as he *loves* books, but this was one of the most heartfelt and charming books we've picked up in a very, very long time. You'll love the main character - I haven't read a book to my son in.... I don't know how long.....that I've actually wanted to cry, then jump up and cheer when it all worked out for the lovable character.
This book conveys a very positive message of just being yourself and to not be ashamed of that - I think that's great for children to learn, but I think it's always something we as adults could hear every now and then as well.
Art is quirky and cute - my son really liked it and thought it was funny, and the physical book itself was especially well made. You can tell this book, from the story to it's design, was really made from love.
As a parent, I really couldn't say anything negative about this book, and encourage everyone who has children to get this book (and even adults too, because we all need to be reminded it's OK to be different sometimes).
